It's Not A Felony!!

Months later, Jenko had being working with Morton on his athletics, and Morton had being working with Jenko on his knowledge of the force. I had been tagging along I guess; laughing at Jenko's ways to get Morton up for training, jogging along their route with them to train Morton, clapping when Morton made in through the obstacle training course in a successful time, hugging Jenko when he almost broke down when he got bad scores in the tests Morton composed, and helping Jenko by reading him text books and testing him on police force knowledge. Jenko's hair had grown so that it was short and resembled the length of your average man's hair. Morton's hair had grown back too and I much preferred the both of them looking like they did now.

One day, Morton was out seeing our parents, but I had passed seeing as I had seen them last week, and he hadn't. I instead opted to test Jenko.

"I'm telling you, Em, it's not a felony!" he roared at his paper, as I just looked down at him, eyebrow raised, as it usually was with Jenko.

"God dammit, it's too hard," he choked.

"Oh crap," I murmured, bending down to hug him in the fear he'd begin crying.

He stood up to hug me better, and I rubbed his back, reassuringly.

"Thanks, Em," he muttered into my shoulder.

"Welcome, Jenko, buddy," I said.

He sighed.

"What?" I asked, pulling back to look at him.

"Do you still hate me because of what happened in high school?" he whispered.

"What the fuck? No!"

"Then why do you only call me by my surname?"

I stopped to think then. Why don't I call him Greg?

"I guess..." I said, after several moments of silence, "I always called you that back in high school and it became a habit... But I'm sorry... Greg," I finished, smiling.

"That's great, Em, thanks," he laughed.

"Right, so sit back down and just remember, if it has intent, then it's a felony."

He laughed and we got back to teaching.
