The two silhouettes were fluid and barely a flowing outline of black. A thick darkness had robbed them of all colour, leaving a clouded resemblance of a figure.

The two figures had appeared out of nowhere, a few meters apart. They were both enveloped in a darkness which had a strange thick quality to it. Catching each other's gaze for a second too long, they seemed to be mutually agreeing to something.

As they turned to face Elena an unforgiving silence poisoned the air. Their translucent white eyes stood out against their inky bodies which were melting into the advancing shadows. The rest of their demonising features were faded into the spew of black except from their hollowed mouths, leaving Elena drained of emotion. As they stared intently at her their mouths stretched wider revealing an endless abyss which looked like it could swallow away Elena's entire existence into nothing more than a forgotten, pitied lie.

You're a monster, it laughed, you lie, you cheat, you kill...

The words were ripped with a hazy cackle leaving Elena numb with fear. They were laughing at her. A dreary malice hung in the air. The words left deep scars on Elena, driving her sanity away into a pitied lie. Clutching her head like two broken pieces, she shook it desperately.

"Stop!"She cried beneath desperate screams.

And they did. Like breath from glass, the words vanished.
