Chapter 3

When I reached my room

I saw a letter stuck on my door and when I tried my keys, the door was ajar and I found myself staring at a basket. I snatched the Letter away from the door deciding to read it afterwards and inspect the basket more closely. I moved towards the basket very tentatively afraid because of unknown reasons. I took a step one at a time until I saw it had a blanket and was moving. At first I thought it must be a dog or cat but then when I removed the blanket.......

Oh my gosh! A Baby! .By the looks of it, the baby looked like it was 6 months old and the baby was a she. I peeked in the basket and saw her staring directly at me .
She had soft brown eyes and chocolate brown hair just like the shades Dimitri has. I pulled the letter out from my jean's pocket that I found by my door and read it.

My dear little girl rose,
You may not be knowing me but I know you . Let me introduce myself first, I am your aunt but you don't need to know that because by the time you read this I would be dead.My daughter, Allisa died giving birth and I was suffering from a very rare disease.
I want you to take care of her. I have faith in you and I known about your secret relationship with your mentor. Don't worry I haven't reported you and don't have any intention of doing it any time soon. I am happy for you two. Dimitri knows about me ask him about your father Abe Mazur. Don't worry he did not know about your father before this and would definitely be shocked and afraid of you after.
Be happy She will definitely bring you joy.
Oh and do remember to name her. please don't give her up.

I peeped into the banklet and saw her staring at me and waving her arms around as if to say that she wanted to be lifted from there . I pulled her out of the basket which seemed cozy enough but not so much as a bed and then removed the basket from my bed ,kept her on wall edge so she wouldn't fall of and guarding her from all sides with all the pillow I could find in my room. For the first time I felt happy I did not have a roommate of my own. Being a female novice training to be a guardian was very rare ,so on my floor there were only 4 of us.

I needed to call Dimitri here as soon as possible. I grabed my phone from my side table and scrolled through it till I found 'hot mentor -comrade' and called him. He picked up on the second ring.

"Hey, Roza missing me already" I could hear a smile in his voice
"D-d-dimitri"
"Roza ,are you okay where are you should I come !??"
"Room" it was all he needed to hear ..........
"I am on my way there " and with that he hung up.

There was a knock on the door just after 10 mins . I stood up lifting my baby with me. It felt so weird thinking about her as my own and then again it felt so heart touching and possessive that I was sure that whatever decision Dimitri will make for her, she will still be mine and I won't give up on her. This much lesson I got from my relationship with my mother - never to give up on people.

I opened the door. Dimitri look at me shocked and then confusion took over his features.
"Roza....." And I was afraid of his reaction towards her.
