Chapter 7

Sonya came forward towards me in a friendly and comforting manner to calm me down as she wrapped her arm around me.
"Hey why don't we reach a safe place first then we can go on shouting at each other for explaining the situation. And we don't really want to put Ena's life in danger by arguing with each other at this time of the day, do we? "
That was a reasonable thought, I did not really want to risk Ena's life, and looking around it was gradually getting dark out here and a pleasuring time for strigois to start a party with us as there food.
" Yeah. We should get going but don't think this conversation is over."

With that said I went off storming, getting in the back seat of the car and slamming the door shut with a loud 'thud' sound. I felt dimitri getting in beside me but did not acknowledge him, even Ena was ignoring him too. I was surprised at her behavior towards him. I think she understood that her mommy was angry with her daddy. I was waiting to see what she would do now that she sees her mommys angry with daddy.

We were in the car for about 15 minutes when dimitri noticed that Ena was ignoring him as, he was cooing at her but she wasn't even looking at him. When he tried to take Ena, she started crying.
"Why are you making her cry if she doesn't want you to take her so let her be don't disturb. "

He stared at me and then at Ena looking back and forth between the two of us with his jaws hanging open.
" Last I checked she was still daddy's daughter now what happened to that"
"daddy made her mommy angry happened"
"what should I do to make her happy again"
"Ask her yourself "
"Roza you know she can't speak right"
He asked but I just ignored him looking out the window into the dark night. Ena was asleep aganist my chest. Her breathing calmed me down. She was so beautiful asleep. I was glad she came into my life, before her I did not even think that in future I would become a mother none the less take care of one. It scared me sometimes that I couldn't become the mother she needed me to be. Truth be told I could not take care of myself nonetheless her. What if when she grows up she would hate me just like I do my mother.

Keeping all those aside I had many questions to which I needed answers. Like first the important thing what is going on between Abe, my father(whom I hadn't seen before in my whole life) and Alberta my former teacher (who was like a mother to me than my own mother was). Second again a very important question, why did Lissa behaved like that after all she had been my best friend since kindergarten, and I even sacrificed everything for her when she decided to run away from the school I was the one who had to pay for that and then she goes about repaying me back like this. I was really hurt by her betrayal I really wished deep down that she wasn't doing it on purpose that she had been compelled or something.

I didn't even realize when we reached home or should I call it a palace when all of a sudden Dimitri called
"Roza I know that you are angry with me but that doesn't mean you are going to stay outside right."
"What makes you think I am not going to?"
He turned towards me and stared at me wide eyed. Seeing dimitri shocked for life and the cause being me was making me so much happier. We continued staring at each other. Seeing the tension between us Abe stepped in and said
" Come on kids get over with it I don't think rose will be able to stay out all night in this cold weather and so leave her she will come on her own. "

And just like that they all went inside even DIMITRI LEFT ME OUTSIDE. The nerves of him and he thinks I should not be angry with him. I got out of the car and stood outside staring at the night dark sky. Frankly staring at the sky gave me a peace of mind. Just like that every other problems of my life was forgotten as I continued staring out at the sky.

Ena stirred in her sleep still in my arms and brought me back to reality. I went back inside to find a woman waiting for me by the door.
"Hello, my name is Louisa and I am appointed as your maid for the rest of your stay here, Miss Mazur "
"OH no please call me rose."
"Please come with me this way they must be waiting for you and I guess you are hungry as well"
To conform that, my stomach grumble to make it's presence known. Louisa laughed and went off. I followed her to see a big dinning hall and every one sitting on the table waiting for me.

"so did u like the view?" it was Abe to break the awkward silence in the room.
"yes very, but let's discuss. "

"OK lets discuss. So what do you want to know about."
" First what is going on with you and Alberta. "
I said while holding Ena in my arms tightly and then sat down with others.
"Why don't you let Louisa put Ena down."
"Where will she be sleeping tonight"
"In the nursery of course"
"No let her sleep with me tonight"

Abe turned towards Louisa and said "Louisa why don't you get some help and get the additional crib down here and arrange someone to move the crib in nursery to Rosemarie's room."
"yeah, of course sir"
With that said she was off. I turned towards Abe.
"Now why don't you start explaining yourselfs and then when Louisa comes back I will put Ena down. "

"Rosemarie " I turned towards the voice calling my name when I got the shock of my life.

Janine hathaway stood in front of me. My mother whom I haven't seen for god knows how long.

"mom what are you doing here?"
"so I see he did not tell you till now" mom said looking towards Abe.
"mom what didn't he tell me about."
"that I am not your mother."
"WHAT?!! "
"What a way of disclosing a secret hathaway." Abe spoke looking at mom uh... Janine. Then turned towards me.
"Okay little girl -"
" Rose, I definitely am not a little girl. "
"okay little girl let me tell you a story. You need to keep an open mind. (I nodded towards him to continue) so your mother is not Janine she is Alberta. Before you start yelling at me again let me explain. I am what you call is not a good man. I have enemy all around the world. - "
" what he is trying to tell is he is a mobster, Roza " That was dimitri for you. Abe glared at him an continueed with his so called story.
" So where was I, before, I was very rudely interrupted. Ah... So as I was telling you I have many enemies all over the world. When Alberta told me she was pregnant with you I was very happy. To say I was happy would be an understatement, I was overjoyed. At that time I did not have this much luxury like I have now. We were very happy and were enjoying your time of arrival. It was then that happened. I was out for some business meeting when she was attacked by some people. She was not able to fight at that time. We lived in baia near Dimitri's house. We were lucky Alberta could run and nothing happened to you. She was running out in the streets when she collided with Olena, Dimitri's mother. Olena knew how to fight. She fought them off, took Alberta and went back to her house. Alberta went into labour and had you. Olena did not know she was 3 months pregnant and she lost her baby."
"Alexei "dimitri whispered.
"yes dimitri he sacrificed himself to save the love of your life and I am very grateful and blessed by that. I know that you had been wanting a baby brother and I am very sorry we took that away from you. Olena was heartbroken but she never showed it because of you dimitri, she was afraid you would have been angry at her for not being able to give you a baby brother. Then Victoria came to life and you kicked that unworthy piece of man ivashkov out of the house. "
" You are Adrian's brother! oh my god!! " I exclaimed.
" Yes" dimitri whispered.
"Rose you were with us till the age of 3 by then to protect you you were made to call Janine your mother. Alberta would cry every time you called Janine your mother. Then you were send to st valadmir were I made sure Alberta was there as the head guardian of that school. Janine here is a very good friend and my half sister."
"why didn't you think you escape everytime you made a mistake" Alberta started "why i never reacted to this little munchkin here and dimitri. I was the one who made sure she reached your dorm room. Didn't you think how your dorm room door was open."
"I thought I left it open .......................
So you are my original mother (looking at Alberta who nodded my way) and you, my father (looking at Abe who also nodded my way), and you are my mother for all intents and purposes(looking at Janine )"
" yeah something like that " Janine replied. After a long pause I said.
" Why did not you tell me sooner or I was really a disgrace to the family. If dimitri hadn't brought me here you would have never even asked for me. If only I knew dimitri was going to bring me here then.... What did you think I am blind or something, cause no I am not I can see, look around the room you can only see some girls photo may be  my sister but not me thats confirmed, photos and photos of her with you both, just like a family I wanted ; but no why should you. If she can live with you both why couldn't I. " I stood up, took Ena from the crib who was now awake. When she saw me her face broke out into the most beautiful grin I had ever seen before. Seeing her made me feel a little better. I turned to Louisa" Louisa can u please take me to my room and please don't allow anyone in, okay. "
" Roza, let me hel-"
" Dimitri please I want to stay alone for a little while. "
