Chapter 58 - Tris
I sit in my stool next to Caleb's hospital bed. I've heard before that people look younger in their sleep, and now I know that it's true. Sleep erases the lines of worry, stress, pain, and sorrow from a persons face, leaving them pure and untouched. Looking at Caleb now, I can see the Abnegation boy I knew before Choosing Day, before 'Divergent' was a word in my vocabulary, before I knew I was Divergent, before my parents died.
I look down and notice that sometime in the last few minutes, I had reached over and taken hold of one of Caleb's hands. I run my thumb down the back of his hand, feeling scars an rough patches in his skin.
Caleb's eyes flutter open suddenly. He turns his head to the side and sees me.
"Hey there, Sleeping Beauty." I say with a grin.
He smiles.
The End.
