MrsAvaMae: good to be home
//
We had arrived in San Francisco two days ago and Harry and I had been staying with my parents. It's been so nice spending more than a few hours with them. Usually when I see them it's because my mom is in town for my meetings.
Harry's show was tonight and I was so excited. He was even more excited, to the point where he couldn't even sleep through the night in full. He was wide awake at five in the morning. When I woke up around eight, he had breakfast made for all of us. The table was set and there was waffles, berries, and bacon. I was awake before my parents, so I woke them and headed back into the kitchen. I go straight to Harry's side, curling up to him and pressing a kiss to his jawline.
"Got a show today," I mumble. He laughs and wraps his arms around me.
"Can you do anything other than repeat things I said on video four years ago?"
"Yeah, I can quote disney movies too," I laugh lightly. He rolls his eyes and gives me a quick kiss.
"Go sit down and eat, Ave."
My mom and dad come into the kitchen as I'm heading over to the table. Harry wraps his arm around my moms shoulder as she hugs his side.
"Good morning, Harry. Thank you for making breakfast."
"Good morning, mum," he smiles. I smile as he hugs my mom. The fact that he called her mom made my heart flutter. The day is off to a great start.

"Yo, can we get a bunch of free merch tonight since it's your husbands show?" Rachel asks as she hooks her arm with mine.
I laugh lightly as we walk. We were at the park just down the street from my parents apartment. We all spent a lot of time here when we were growing up. It almost felt weird to be back.
"I'm sure Harry can pull some strings. I can't promise anything though."
"Forget his merch, I want some of yours for album three," Lacey smiles. "You've literally only played three songs for us and I'm obsessed. When do we get to hear the full album?"
"When I actually have it," I laugh. "I don't have the finished files yet. I don't get them until later because people like to leak things."
"You know I was genuinely surprised that Harry's album didn't get leaked like a week early."
"I'm surprised he did as much as he did without anything being leaked," I laugh. "You know, when I think about it, I'm surprised he's even able to have a private life. He's so good at staying under the radar."
"Meanwhile, a bunch of creeps with cameras are across the park taking pictures of us," Lacey sighs. "I wish paparazzi weren't a thing. Remember when Harry payed paps to delete pictures? That's so crazy to me."
I smile at the memory of Harry being so supportive when my dad was injured. "He's got a heart of gold. That's why I married him."
We all sit down in the grass against a little rock wall. Lacey turns to Rachel to talk.
"Any special guys for you, Rach?"
"No, it's my job to third wheel your guys' relationships, remember?"
"That's right," I nod and turn to Lacey. "She doesn't need a man."
Rachel nods and looks down at her hands. "How long have we been friends?"
"Uh, six years? Seven? Something like that," I shrug and look over at her. "Why do you ask?"
"I can trust you guys with anything, right?"
"Of course you can," Lacey says. "Is something wrong? Are you hiding a secret husband or something?"
"Uhm," she fumbles with her fingers. "Not exactly a husband. Maybe more of like, a girlfriend?"
"Holy fuck I knew it! Ava I so told you!"
Rachel and I both look at Lacey in shock at her outburst. Sure, before we were close with Rachel, Lacey had the idea in her mind. But god, she didn't need to say that.
"Lacey, this is why we don't tell you things," I glare. I turn to Rachel and wrap my arms around her. "Rach, thank you for trusting us enough to tell us. God, now I'm even more excited for Harry's show because I can make you wear a pride flag like a cape and nobody will even care."
"Thanks, Ave. I'm really glad we had this little mini trip back home. I've missed all of us hanging out like this. It's been too long since the three of us have been together for this long."
I nod in agreement. "Sorry, I tend to be selfish and cling to Harry when he's home."
"You have every right to be," Lacey says. "I don't know how you live the life you do."
"That's easy. I have some of the best friends a girl could ask for."
//
"Sarah! For fuck sake!" Harry laughs. "Do you not know how to fucking count?!"
"That was you! You started a beat early!" She defends herself, laughing as she yells back at him. I listen with amusement from a few rows back on the floor, sitting with my parents, Lacey, and Rachel. They were working on the rehearsing the opening of the show to make sure the curtain drop timing was right, so we couldn't even see anybody.
"Your husband is an idiot."
I laugh at Lacey's words and nod my head, obviously unable to disagree. We weren't far from show time and I had butterflies for Harry. I was so excited to see the full show and to see him back on stage. It's his favorite thing to do.
Within about an hour, they've cleared the stage for MUNA and Harry is back to getting ready for the show. I was laid on the couch in his dressing room, watching silently as Lou styled his hair. We could hear the music playing from the main room, where fans were starting to file in. My family and the girls had gone out to get food before the show, promising to bring me something.
"Ave, babe," Harry mumbles after Lou finishes his hair. She starts to clean up her things a little and Harry looks at me with a pout. "Can you c'mere?"
I stand without a word, locking my phone and going over to him. He tugs me into his lap so I'm sitting sideways, my legs tossed over the edge of the chair. I try not to mess up his hair as I wrap my arms around him. He lazily kisses my temple as I ask him if he's alright.
"I'm nervous," he says breathlessly. "This is huge for me. This is my solo tour. What if its fucking awful?"
"It's not going to be awful," I hum, trying to contain my smile from his ridiculous words. "As I said before your single came out, you could go out there and sing the ABC's and your fans would still freak out. I can't say you have nothing to be nervous about, but you shouldn't be nervous about it being terrible. You're a star, H. You're gonna kill it."
"Hopefully I don't disappoint your home town," he smiles lightly.
"If you do you're banned," I joke, pressing a light kiss to his nose. "I can't have you giving me a bad rep here."
"I don't wanna be banned here," he says quietly. His eyelids flutter as he looks up to meet my eyes. "I don't wanna be banned from the city that gave me the love of my life."
"Technically I was conceived and born in Texas," I mutter quietly. "We were transferred back and forth between Texas and here a few times until my mom told my dad we were staying here when I started second grade."
He rolls his eyes. "You and your minor details. You're a San Fransisco girl, Ava. Lacey would beat your ass if you ever told anybody otherwise."
"I am. I have so many memories here," I mumble. "And a lot of my favorite ones are with you."
"All of my favorite memories in this city are with you. I love you. Thank you for being here with me tonight."
"I wouldn't miss it," I smile and connect my lips with his. "Love you, superstar."
