I'm now seventeen and was ready for the hunter academy but because i was raised and have grown up in beacon academy i decided that i would go to another school there i was suppose to restart my life around new people. I talked to my old man Ozpin and he agreed in my turn of mind and used his connections to let me get in Shade academy in Vacuo. The excitement i felt when i got the news was indescribable while i was packing for my first and solo adventure. Under the years i been training with Mr Port and Dr. Oobleck helped me with mentally training like strategy and math an so on. Thinking about it i think that my old man also understood what i was going for with all this training, Ozpin was busy but he had a eye on me at all time, so much i knew.
When i turned sixteen my old man gave me my first weapon, a massive halberd! The shaft was like a inverted axe head but with a big red gem in the middle that looked like a normal glass gem but knowing my father it was differently something more mysterious. They say you need ten thousand hours to master whatever you want to do but i knew i only had a year to at least be decent with this halberd. The halberd had no range from but the handle could be drawn into the shaft so it didn't take that much space on my back.
Well the time had come when i was on my way to Shade academy, the goodbye to Ozzpin, Glynda and the teachers that helped me grew the past seventeen years was hard but this was what i needed to do to help my father against this Salem person. As a memory of me i gave my old man a white mug with the Vale logo on which felt a bit lame but as far as i know he uses it still today.
My first impression of Vacuo was rather nice form the view of the air craft, sure everything was sand but the town was really unbelievable until you actually had you're foot on the ground. I had a unwary feeling the whole time i was walking to the academy like someone or actually several people watching me. The weather was hot and windy though i had a cloak and goggles to not get sand in my eyes or sand in my stuff i still had a hard time getting to the academy. Walking down the ally of the school, i saw a lot of people that looked obviously as new here as me which made me calm down a bit. All new students that had come to Shade was called up by Ms. Mera who was to be my future teacher in the most of our subjects, she gathered everyone in the main hall where she introduced us to the principal who told us that we where to get in to teams by four though i already knew all of that, i did grow up in the academy of beacon.
So on beacon i knew my father had a habit to fling the new students of a cliff straight out into the woods that may or may not be stuffed with the creatures of grimm but now we was inside in the main hall with a roof so we could not be tossed into the air, anyway all new students was instructed to stand on some platforms and the rules was that the first one you meet was to be your partner and when you was paired up two and two you was supposed to find another team of two not two single people one after another but two in a team to build a team of four. I remember looking up and wonder what the plan was with the platforms and the roof when a girl asked if i was afraid of heights? I told her no and wonder why she asked but she didn't have the time to answer until i felt that i was falling, i quickly looked dawn and would not believe my eyes the brief moment i saw what was beneath the academy. Under the School was a giant cave with a large maze and when i say that it was a giant maze i don't only mean the area of the maze but also because of the huge walls.
Though i was surprised i had a ''landing strategy'' for the whole falling to your death part that i just needed to adjust a little bit by striking the tall walls with my halberd. Safe on the ground i immediately came in contact with two grimm and though i had fought the grim before this was the first time for real, or at least it felt like it anyway. The maze was more than a pain in the ass and that was not only for the grimm but it had a uneven ground like they just had built the maze on top of the cave. I was still new to the whole fight the monster thing and i was starting gating tired and was really lost, i had only meat smaller grimms like the grim boar and the wolf and one single ursa though it was not easy. As a normal person would, i did sat down of a bit of a rest, what i didn't know then was that i took a rest on a death stalker so that was fun..
Running for my life with the last strength i had i got to a end of the maze that had a big ravine to my left and a mountain to the right that led into the maze again and seemed to be the only way out but i was too tired to climb. Even if i was cornered i realized that if i could get the death stalker to attack me i may get it to slip into the ravine which would save me a lot of a fight i was not sure if i could win. The death stalker had come to a halt, it did just stand there and looked at me, probably to get a opening on me like a was waiting for from the Death stalker. I was ready, i hold my halberd high and was ready to strike the second the death stalker would strike until.
Three giant boulders with grimm wolf's plummeted from the mountain and took the death stalker with it. The relief i felt that moment was indescribable but made me curious of how that even happened. I looked up and on the mountain top where the maze continued i saw a girl with black short hair and was wearing a black combat suit, in each hand was a metal blade and even though we were in a cave that was reasonably lit up, her eyes with the color of amber gleamed right at me. I put my hand on my forehead and made a salute for a symbol of gratitude when i realized that she was the first person i meet down here at all and sticking to the rules we was to work together from now on so i needed to make a good impression, of course while i was realizing this she had already climbed down from the mountain side and was standing in front of me. She asked me if i was alright and asked me for my name though i just had ''come back to the earth'' so to speak.
She had a calm smile on her face while i tried to introduce myself, I told her my name and that i was grateful for the help, i also checked if she had a teammate though the exact question was ''Do you have someone in your life yet'' which was embarrassing enough when i realized what i just had asked but she just laughed it off and told me no. My nerves was a wreck, i was not really used to talk to random people, i was raised in a tower of a school for heaven's sake so i should have meet a lot of people that went to Beacon but i was most of the time in the studies reading, if i was not out training. I did speak to the teachers a lot but they have known me all my life so i guess that does not count.
Now when we where two we only needed to find another team of two so we could become a team of four and leave this maze but what we did not know was that the avalanche she made attracted attention, not long after the avalanche a team of two found us to check that no one had gotten hurt so after not been able to find anyone all three found me instead.
This was the first time i meet my teammates ofteam (CAMO).
