Hiro's POV

"Hiro...Hiro.." I opened my eyes feeling groggy and sore. I winced and saw Wilbur's face hovering over me. I almost forgot I had slept over at his house. It was still dark in his room but outside his window the sun was starting to come out. Wilbur whispered, "Wakey Wakey..." He put his hands on my face and I pushed them away. I sat up feeling my head with a moan. I turn to him and ask, "What time is it?" He looked outside and then went over to his sleeping bag and pulled out his phone. The light of it shines on his face. Wilbur looked a bit tired too but a lot better then I picture myself looking right now. He said, "8:00"

What? Already? The sun wasn't even out yet. I think I heard him wrong, "8 ó clock? Are you sure?" He nods checking his text messages and putting his phone down. Then Wilbur tilts his head over to the left looking at something. I follow his gaze and see he is looking at the girls. Oh yeh. They slept over too. They were breathing lightly and peacefully. Something about how girls sleep was cute. Guys aren't so nice to watch as girls are. Maybe it's because were attracted to them. I watched Penny. She was smiling happily in her dreams. I'm glad she wasn't having any nightmares. It made me smile.

I was a little nervous when I realized Wilbur was looking at me, sneaking a devious grin. I raise an eyebrow trying to act as if I didn't know why he was staring at me, "What?" Wilbur punched me in the arm lightly, "Did you kiss her last night?" My face felt hot. How did he know me and Penny were talking last night? Was he watching us? I give a quiet laugh and ask, " No! Why do you ask?" Wilbur rubs his pointy head, "Because I saw you walk outside last night and then she came after you. I just assumed you guys were doing SOMETHING." I roll my eyes and start to fold my sleeping bag up quietly trying not to wake up the girls, "Well we didn't kiss. We just had a nice talk and got everything settled between us. Penny and I hugged but that was all." He just smiled, "You sure?" Wilbur nudged me once more and I cautiously look over at the girls seeing if they were listening in. I groan and push him over, off his knees, "Yes." He laughed and sat back up. I ask curiously, "When are you going to kiss Violet, huh?" He suddenly looked down uncomfortably and sighed.

Then there was a yawn beside me. It was Penny. She pushed herself up resting on her elbow and looked around just as I did squinting, inspecting where she was. Following her, Violet starts to move but turns over and moans. Penny looked over at us, "What time is it?" Wilbur smirks at me, "Twins." I say through my teeth, "Shut up!" Penny was too tired out to comprehend what we were saying, "Huh?" Then I hear Violet groan loudly sitting up straight holding her phone in one hand, "Dang it you two!" She walked up to us while we looked up at her, "We have to leave soon or we're going to be late for school because you guys didn't wake us up! Little doody heads!" She started smacking us lightly with the nearest pillow she got her hands on. She started to walk away getting everything together and there was a bomb of laughter all around us. I love being with these guys.

Soon we were all packed up with our sleeping bags in our arms and book bags on our backs heading to school. We had forgotten all about the fire last night and the fact that the school was even open. My mind wandered to Ricky again. There was a twist in my stomach thinking about the two times I almost got a punch from that guy. My heart pounded as I looked at my friends and came to a realization. I was keeping this from them, even from my brother who I was closest to more than anyone.

I stopped walking. Violet noticed first and turned around which made the other two stop. She said concerned, "Hiro, are you ok?" I looked down and took my book bag off, "No. No I'm not." I unzipped the bag, "I've been keeping something from you guys." The girls were confused but Wilbur knew what I was going to do. I had told him already. I grabbed the crumpled piece of paper that gave me chills just looking at it. I said as I uncrumbled it, "Ricky, the guy who picked me up and was about to beat me up at lunch that day, has been terrorizing me for the past week. I didn't tell you guys because...I thought I could handle it." I gave the paper to Violet and she stared at it. Penny was looking down now, "Hiro..." Violet suddenly erupted, "WHY IS HE DOING THIS TO YOU?" We all looked at her. She never got this angry before. I opened my mouth but she cut me off, "DON'T PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT THESE KINDS OF THINGS KILL PEOPLE?" I stuttered, "Violet-." Her eyes fixed on mine, "Why didn't you tell us this? We could've done something!" The others backed up. I was getting a bit angry as well, "Why are you so upset by this?" Violet yelled, "Because-IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!"

We stopped. Violet's anger went down and her sadness rose. I softened. A tear went down her face, "I'm the one who got you in this mess. They were picking on me first. You are a great guy. I'm...I'm a-" I grabbed her into a hug. She needed it. I squeezed and she hugged me back. I say to her pulling away, "You're not a loser." Penny spoke up quickly, "Tip turned me against Hiro." We all looked over at her. She says nervously, "But I think it was Pitch's doing." Then we suddenly turned to Wilbur. He got a little red as he talked, "I was jealous of Hiro getting the babes." What? I don't get babes.. Well that made us laugh. I picked up my book bag and looked to all of them, "Listen guys, no matter what, I love you guys through out. We're perfect to me. Besides, we're not losers...we're modern." They all smiled at that. It was true. We are great and modern, and I like to keep it that way.
