Don't You Love Me? (Jeremy X Michael)

Chapter Ten

    After Jeremy visits Michael, he goes to a vending machine to get a drink and some food. He meant it when he said he wasn't leaving.

    He goes back to the waiting room and sits down, eating his vending-machine item brunch thing, when he hears arguing from down a couple hallways.

    Jeremy subconsciously listens.

    "Still! You could've killed him!" Says a lisp-y voice. Jeremy thinks of Rich, but he brushes it off, there's no way Rich could be here..

    "But I di-"

    "He doesn't deserve to die! You need to stay off your phone while driving!"

    The second voice sighs, "Yes, I know, but-"

    "I know he shouldn't have been on his phone either, but-" the nagging couple passes the waiting room, and Jeremy sees the short, lispy boy from high school.

    "Rich?" The name stumbles out his lips.

    Rich continues to nag to Jake about how irresponsible he was being.

    "- if you just weren't driving and texting, Michael wouldn't be in the hospital right now."

    Jeremy stops listening and continues to eat. Jake was the one to hit Michael...

    He knows he should feel upset, angry, maybe even vengeful now that he knows who almost killed Michael, but he didn't. Instead, he feels a strange calm surround him. Maybe it's because Rich is yelling at Jake, or maybe his stress this morning has been too much, leaving him with a shell of his feelings.

    And besides, from the sounds of it, Rich is making Jake feel terrible for it, anyways.

     Jeremy finishes up and pulls out his phone. He messages people who's messaged him previously, and starts playing a game on his phone for around an hour.

    Then his phone notified him that someone messaged him, with a number he didn't know.

    ??? - Hey.. Jeremy, I'm sorry. I'm visiting New Jersey in a few weeks, how about we meet up..?

    Jeremy's instantly confused. Who would be messaging him something like that?

    Then, then he knew.

    Christine....
