Chapter 16: The Truth of an Exorcist

I woke up to feeling something around my waist, I turn my head to see Suguro holding me and sleeping peacefully. I jump back a bit, because I forgot that I asked him to stay. I then smile to myself as I play with his hair, he then grunts and opens his eyes.
"Sorry." I say, as I give him a smile. He then jumps back a bit and blushed as he let go of me and sat up.
"Um...it's ok." He says as he rubbed the back of his head. I giggle as I sit up next to him.
"You know, I don't know how you don't have a girlfriend." I said as I began to laugh.
"HUH!?" He says.
"I mean your nice, caring, smart and good looking, so any girl would want to be with you." I said, as he blushed more.
"I...um....well." he starts but I stop him.
"Come on let's head to school." I said as I got up, he got up as he followed me out the door, we then make it to school and see Koneko and Shima.
"Hey guys." I said as I waved at them.
"Hey Misaki. Hey Bon." Koneko said with a smile.
"Hey, so did you have fun last night you two." Shima said as he gave Suguro a sly grin.
"IT WASN'T LIKE THAT!" Suguro yelled.
"Ok, geez I was just asking." Shima said, Suguro grunted and turned away, to see that the school was closed.
"Huh?" I said, and at that moment Rin walked up to us.
"What's with all the commotion?" Rin asked.
"Oh, hey Okumura." Koneko said.
"Hey man how's it going." Shima said.
"Hey, so what the heck is going on?" He asked.
"The hostage situation a couple of days ago, that's what's up, and there's a rumor going around saying the director took the blame for it and was forced to ressign." Suguro said.
"Huh?" Rin said.
"They're shutting the academy down for the time being, they wouldn't even let us into the building to get our books and stuff out." Koneko said.
"That's only half of it." Izumo said as she walked up to us.
" Good morning Izumo." Shima said.
" The Vatican's higher ups have all been kicked out, the Popes been removed and a new ones been made." Izumo said.
"Who would do that?" I asked.
"They picked the worse time." Koneko said.
" You think all this has anything to do with the director getting canned." Shima said.
" I don't know, one things for sure, someone's making big changes around here for the cram school, and The Knights of the Ture Cross." Suguro said.
"Yeah, but who's giving the orders?" I asked.
"Who knows." Suguro says.
"Come on let's go." Koneko said as they walk off.
"Hey you coming Misaki?" Shima asked.
"No, I'll see you guys later, I have to talk to Yukio and Rin about all this." I said.
"Ok, see you later." Suguro said as they walked off, I then ran up to Rin we were talking on the steps when Shura came to talk to us.
"Yukio's the Palidan now, seriously!?" Rin said.
"But why now, how did he even qualify to be the Palidan." I asked
"I don't know, but he's also the director of the Japan Branch too, I know it's crazy, makes me wonder what our new Popes been smoking." Shura said.
"That son of a, typical Yukio, I wanted to be the Palidan first, but he beat me to it." Rin said.
"Really Rin." I said as I faced palmed myself.
"Your getting all bent our of shape because of that." Shura said.
"Right like you ever had a chance of catching up to me." Yukio said as he walked up to us.
"Yukio." I said.
"Yukio, is what i'm hearing true, are you really the Palidan now." Rin asked.
"Yes I am, just like dad, I'm the most powerful exorcist of all now." Yukio says.
"Yeah whatever, you rule and I suck, you work your ass off and your the best little brother a guy can have, thing is this is important stuff, so how come we're the last to know about it." Rin said as I nod head in agreement.
"Well it all happened suddenly." Yukio said.
"Yeah, well you've could've at least texted us." Rin said.
"Yeah Yukio." I said.
"Your right sorry, I'll try not to do it again." Yukio said.
"Alright." I said.
"Yeah, I can live with that." Rin said.
"I was given the title of Palidan to serve one specific purpose, to give all information about the mission straight to Vatican Headquarters." Yukio said.
"What mission?" Rin and I asked, Yukio then showed us a video of the Pope giving a speech of putting operation Jacobs Ladder into motion.
"Operation Jacobs Ladder?" Rin asked.
"The Pope choose me to be the commander of the mission, I can't do this without you Rin, so will you help me?" Yukio asked as Rin's face lite up with a smile.
"Yeah, you got it." Rin says.
"I gotta meeting, I'll catch up with you guys later." Yukio said as he walked away.
"Bye Yukio!" I yell as I wave him goodbye.
"Good luck, go get em little bro." Rin said. I then meet up with the others in the armory for some unknown reason. They then start handing us weapons.
"Your giving me a gun?" Suguro asked.
"It's a gun made specially by the Vatican, it absorbs the demons you kill, and uses your efficiency in battle." The teacher explains.
"This really puts me in the mood for some action." Shima says as he puts the gun up.
"Come on Shima that's a gun, not a toy ok." Koneko says, I look at my gun and walk up to the teacher and wait with Sheimi and Izumo.
"Actually we're in training to become tamers." Izumo said.
"Well, if you want your free to use that grimior." The teacher says as he points to a big book.
"I think we're good with these." Izumo said, I then walked up to the teacher and held out my gun.
"I'm in training to become a knight, not a dragoon." I said.
" All right then you can use those swords over there." He says as he points to the swords behind me, I then shake my head.
"No thanks, I prefer to use my sword." I said.
"Yes but the Palidan ordered for you to use these weapons." He said.
"Oh really, well you can tell the Palidan that I will be using my sword weather he likes it or not, or if you prefer I can reassign from my position right now." I said, as the teacher frowned.
"Fine." He said.
"Thank you." I said as I walked away.
"Even though you've been cleared to use weapons, you don't have experience using them yet, so be careful out there, and be sure while your clearing your mission that you don't get in the way of the other exorcist." He explained.
"YES SIR!" We all yell as we go out for our mission, we are now facing a giant snake, and something just doesn't feel right, I hold my sword at my side as I stand there, fearing the job of an exorcist. Is this what exorcist do, is this what I want to become. I stand there in shook, when Koneko almost got hurt, but Suguro stepped in and shot the demon done.
"SAYOKO! GET MOVING, STOP STANDING AROUND!" A teacher yelled, I then shake my head, as Suguro walks up to me.
"Hey are you ok?" He asked. I then shake my head.
"No, is this what exorcist do....cause if it is....then I don't want to be one." I said as I walked away. It is then dinner time, I grab my food and sit away from everyone else, but I could still hear their conversation.
"Hey guys what's for dinner?" Rin asked as he walked up to them.
"We were wondering where you were." Koneko said.
"Hope you like army food, here I grabbed one for you before they ran out." Suguro said.
"Thanks for hooking me up man." Rin says, he than talks to Kuro.
"I know you'll get some, everything's 50/50 with us." Rin said, as Kuro for excited.
"I can't believe your hungry after today." Izumo said, I then get up and walk up to them, my hair covering my face.
"Misaki." Rin said.
"Do you not feel phased by any of this." I asked as no emotion was shown in my voice.
"OF COURSE I DO!" Rin said. I didn't look at him all I did was shake head, all of the sudden the ground began to shake.
"IT'S A WILD BOAR!"
"EVACUATE!"
Everyone yells as the boar runs through our camp site, we all then see Yukio who aims his guns at the boar and shots him, when the boar fell it spoke.
"You cursed humans, how dare you hurt the children of my forest, for 2,000 years they've helped me protect this place from the ravages of man." The boar said as Yukio stood on top of it, and with no hesitation shot the boar.
"YUKIO!" I yelled.
"What the hell you do that for Yukio!" Rin yelled.
"What we're on a demon hunt." Yukio said
"That boar was the God of this forest, he was just pissed off cause we killed all his buddies." Rin said.
"Our orders are clear, we have to eradicate every single demon off the face of the earth." Yukio said.
"What the hell, what about Kuro and Ubaka, what about Izumo and Misaki's familiers, huh, their demons what you gonna kill them too!" Rin yelled.
"You know what Rin, your absolutely right, we must exterminate all demons." Yukio said as he pointed his gun at Kuro, all of the anger in me the burst out as I ran towards Yukio and I got hold of his gun.
"DROP THE DAME GUN YUKIO!" I yelled as we wrestled over the gun.
"LET GO MISAKI!" He yelled.
"NO!" I yelled, he then pushed me off of the gun and pushed me away, I then grunted in pain as I rolled over on my side holding my stomach.
"MISAKI NO!" Rin yelled, he then burst into flames as he grabbed Yukio's gun.
"STOP IT!" Rin yelled.
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!" Rin yelled again.
"You better let go of me Rin." Yukio said.
"So if anyone who calls themselves a demon is going to be hunted down and killed, is that the plan, SINCE WHEN ARE EXORCIST MURDERS!" Rin yelled.
"I said LET GO!" Yukio yelled as he hit Rin, knocking him out.
"RIN!" I yelled. Yukio then answered his phone.
"Okumura here, alright I understand, Orin Young." Yukio said.
" Yes sir." Orin asked.
"I want you to take him to Vatican Headquarters." Yukio said.
"Yes sir." Orin said as he picked up Rin as they walked away.
"YUKIO! WAIT!" I yelled.
It was then the next morning, and all of us were just sitting around thinking about what happened last night. I just lost both of my brothers in one night, what do I do know?
"Bon, where you going?" Koneko asked.
"I'm going to go find Mr. Okumura, we need answers, since he's running the show now he's the one to ask." Suguro said.
"I doubt he'll talk." I said.
"Yeah right, like he's gonna tell us anything, if you want answer a find a teacher with a bigger mouth." Izumo said.
"MR.TSUBAKI!" We all yell.
"Yeah, that's it!" Suguro says.
"Let's go!" I said as we head to Mr. Tsubaki. We finally reach him, and he tells.us everything.
"Execute Okumura, why does he have to die, they never said anything about that." Suguro said.
" I heard his execution was supposed to he on hold until the exorcist authorization exams went through, anyway it's caouse back at headquarters now all the exorcist are on standby until we get further instruction by the director." Mr. Tsubaki said.
"Mr. Tsubaki, do you know where their keeping Rin?" Sheimi asked.
"No I don't, but I heard the execution will take place on the roof of True Cross Academy." Mr. Tsubaki said.
"Then what are we waiting for, let's go save my brother." I said.
" RIGHT !" Everyone yells as we head to True Cross Academy. We then encounter Angle.
"The ceremony is still in process, you will go back to your post at once." Angle said.
"Why the hell does the Vatican want to execute Okumura, he hasn't even done anything!" Suguro yelled.
"Those who have the blood of Satan in their vains deserve to be condoned to death." Angle said.
"But you can't." Sheimi said.
"REALLY IS THAT WHAT THE NIGHTS OF THE TRUE CROSS CALL JUSTICE!" Izumo said. My blood then boiled as I yelled.
"OH YA, WELL GUESS WHAT! I'M THE DAUGHTER OF SATAN, SO YOU MIGHT AS WELL KILL ME TOO!" I yelled as I ignited into flames.
"The orders are absolute, since you defined me you will be struck down." He said as he ran at me with his sword I braced for impact, but it never came, I then look up to see Shura
"Ms. Shura." Izumo said.
"My what a shame, I never thought you'd go back to the demon side." Angle said.
"No I haven't defected it, but the way you guys run things around here, that really pissess me off by time." Shura said as she kept her sword against his, she then turned to us.
"Get out of here, I can handle this." She said, I then nod my head, as the boys helped Mr.Tsubaki up, and we head towards the roof. Hang on Rin i'm coming for you, just wait a little longer.
