Gasps resounded around me as suddenly my sight returned. I stumbled as I felt a presence retreat to the back of my mind. Hands grabbed me and steadied me before I went tumbling over the person seated in front of me. I looked up and smiled at Dominic, though I was kinda surprised he was the one to catch me.

"Come here."

My eyes snapped up to the stage to see the King staring me down. The Queen had grabbed onto his shoulder, her eyes wide as she looked at me. Dominic looked down at me and then gently helped me out of the row of seats we were in and walked with me to the stage. Before he helped me up the stairs, he bent down to my level and whispered into my ear.

"I devote myself to you, Messenger."

I turned on him with wide eyes, but I felt a hand grab my arm and tow me up onto the stage. My head whipped around to see some guy dressed as a guard leading me over to the Royal couple. I frowned when I realized he wasn't going to let me go, despite the fact that I was stumbling behind him.

I was pushed to stand before the King and Queen, their eyes taking me in. The presence stirred in me again and my vision slightly blurred.

"Who are you?" The King questioned.

"I am the Goddess of the Moon. The one you all pray to. Though this body is just a vessel, one I created to be my messenger."

The King's eyes widened and then he bowed his head. "My apologies Goddess. I was not aware you had a messenger or that it was you in this girl. Though may I ask, what do you mean Felicity is not my son's mate? She told us they were mates."

"She is lying. She wanted Ethan and the power it brought being at his side," my eyes darted over to said girl and sent a dirty glare her way. "Felicity would rather throw away the blessing I gifted her in order to take something that isn't hers."

The Queen sucked in a sharp breath and turned to the girl who was glaring at the ground, her head bowed with respect for the presence in me.

"Felicity Crowe," the Queen's voice resonated in the silent auditorium. "From this moment on, you are stripped of the title of Ethan's betrothed, and you are hereby banned from the castle."

The girl's head shot up and fury danced in her eyes. "That's not fair! I practically grew up in the castle!"

"That was the past. You played us all for a fool, betraying the trust we had placed in you. You do not deserve to enter my home after this stunt."

Felicity turned to me and glared. "This is your fault!"

The presence in me chuckled before retreating to the back of my mind. I watched as Felicity roared and lunged onto the stage, tackling me to the ground. Her hand raised to strike me, claws extended, but my hand shot up and grabbed her wrist as I bucked her off me.

I was on my feet and backing away from her in the next second. She turned on me snarling, and lunged once more. I stepped back again only for my foot to meet air instead of the stage. The King grabbed Felicity and pinned her in place, while the Queen reached out for me. Her fingers brushed my arm as I fell off the stage.

Arms caught me and I surprised gasp escaped my lips. Tingles and sparks danced along my skin where his brushed mine. The Queen let out a relieved sigh and crouched down at the edge of the stage.

"Thank you, Ethan. I was worried she was going to break and arm or leg from that fall."

My head snapped up and my wide eyes met grey eyes that shone with shock and happiness. His hands gently squeezed me as he pulled me closer to his chest.
