Chapter 10

I slowly open my eyes to see it snowing. Suddenly the cold slugged me in the face.

"My god! I have no warm clothing!" I shout. I hate the cold weather. It's annoying...but it looks like it's about 2:30 in the evening. I take out my warmer and flip the switch on. The warmth soon kicks in and I snuggle up in the corner of the cave. As I start to get tired I hear something. Crunch, crack, leaves? Someone is here. I grab my sickle out of my bag and get in position, hiding behind the entrance.

"Oasis?" I hear someone say in a sing song voice.

"It's okay...come out..." She starts to get closer. "I'm Blair, from District One..." I remember, a girl named Haley, was gonna be called, but Blair, volunteered. She had bright red hair and a black scalp. She had the brightest blue eyes that I could even see from the screen. When she volunteered she had the biggest smile on her face.

"I've come to eliminate you...I will give you 5 seconds to run., once those 5 seconds are over, I will kill you." My heart stops. I grab my warmer, Five, my knives,four, my bow, three, my arrows, two, I put my bag on my back, one, I shudder at the next words that trailed out of her mouth.

"Zero." I stand at the entrance waiting for Blair to burst in. "Dead End, Oasis."

Blaze jumped into the entry way and I shoved her to the ground. Bad move...Blair grabs my leg and pulls me to the ground as I land face first in the freezing snow. She takes out an axe and launches it towards my head. I dodge it skillfully and grab it. She takes out a medieval looking sword and sprints towards me. She swings and I dodge it but I get a cut on my arm. I looked at her with anger in my eyes.

I'm so tired of fighting, tired of running, and tired of seeing people die! I grab her by the neck and shove her to the ground. I jump on top of her and I start to choke her. She gags and swings the sword pointing it at my head. I grab the blade feeling the blood slowly trickle down my hand and the cut getting deeper and deeper into my skin. I apply more pressure onto her neck and her eyes slowly start to close. Her breaths get sharp and she starts to lower her sword.

But, I start to feel the ground shake. I fall off of her and curse at the sudden movement. I thought the area only changed at 12. I start to feel the ground crumble under my feet. Questions started flowing through my mind as I started falling. The impact hit me as the landing took its toll. During my oh so graceful landing, I banged my head against the stone. The corners of my eyes start to turn black and my hearing started to fade. I looked up and saw Blair grinning before everything turned black.

I got up, finally having a clear(ish) vision. I scan my surroundings, rocky walls, dirt floor, dark lighting, and really deep into the earth, oh, and hot. If I can remember, I met Blair, I almost killed her, and the terrain changed before 12. All of this extremely confuses me, but I now have no idea when the landscape changes. I feel like the area I'm in, changes at the worst possible times.

It changed when I was being chased after Steff, but the thing is, is that I was taken to a 10 foot trench. It also changed when I finally found water, and when I almost killed Blair. It's weird...

"It's almost like the gamemaster(or whatever you call him...lol) changes the landscape to mess with me..." It's weird. He better stop fucking with me, or I'll literally walk out of this arena and beat the shit out of him personally...if I could...

~~~Katniss's POV~~~

I ran down the halls making my way to Snow's office. I burst in making Snow jump up a little.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" I yell. He puts down his pen and looks up at me.

"How many times have you burst into my room?" He asks.

"Who fucking cares?! Why are you giving Oasis a hard time?!" He smiles.

"Because you and that boy, were stupid enough to go against my rules, so I put Oasis's name in there 30 more times. And of course, she was chosen." I had an angry look on my face. I slammed my fist on the desk making his pen fly off the desk.

"Katniss, you put Oasis in this. So you have to deal with it! There is nothing you can do! Now leave!" I grab his papers and throw them to the ground. I opens the door, walk out, and slam the door as hard as I can.

"Fuck you, I will get her out of there..." I whisper. She'll be saved..."Snow messed up the games, he should pay for what he's done."

~~~Oasis's POV~~~

I get up off of my feet and look up. The sky looked gray and dismal. How do I get out if this? I think. I sit there, thinking. How? Will I ever get out? I cross my arms and pace on the ledge I'm on. Just as I hit an idea, I jumped as a cannon went off.

"Three more left huh?" I look up and stare at the clouds.

"It looks like it's about to rain..." The sky was grey and dismal, no idea came to my mind.

I sat there for about 30 mins until I felt rain droplets and cursed. But just as I was about to fall asleep I heared, a noise. A bell? Possibly? I looked up to see a biggish box. It landed on my ledge and I quickly opened it.

When I pulled out a pick axe and rope, an idea came to mind. I tied the rope to the end and threw the pick up to the land above. I pulled on it to make sure it was secure and I started to climb.

"Thank you...Katniss." I whisper.

I finally reach the top to see someone I never wanted to see...

"Hello Oasis..." She says. Her bright green eyes and brown hair flows in the wind while she holds a knife in her hands.

"Shephany..." I get up on my feet and take out my sickle and point it at her.

"You know...I used to be scared...but...but now! I just want to kill you!" I scream. I run towards her and I try to stab her.

~~~Narrators POV~~~

Steff barley dodges her attack but Oasis turns around skillfully and slices her arm. Blood gushes out of the deep cut as Steff grabs her arm. She quickly recovers and grabs Oasis's shirt and kicks her legs to let Oasis fall the the ground. Steff gets on and tries to slice her throat but Oasis grab her arms and tries to pull her away. As Steff slowly gets weaker Oasis takes this chance to bash Steff in the head.

Steff falls to the ground and tries to get up. Oasis gets up and pushes her down again.

"Time to die Steff..." She says. Steff suddenly gains sanity and stabs Oasis in the stomach.

"No, it your time..." She whispers.

~~~Oasis's POV~~~

I look at Steff with wide eyes. The pain rushes throughout my body as she shoves the knife deeper into my flesh. The corners of my eyes started to blur and blacken as my hearing slowly faded. A tear made its way down my face as I thought of my family. I fell to the ground as my breathing got shorter and sharp. I closed my eyes but heard a thud from in front of me.

The cannon went off...showing that a tribute has fallen...

But, can feel myself being lifted off the ground and being touched...strange.
