I opened my eyes and couldn't see that well. Once my vision cleared I saw flames and the others crowded a around a small hole. I tried to got up, but I was a little distorted so I fell back down. I eventually got up and walked over to the others. Luna looked over at me and headed my way.

"Some hunters set fire to the entrance of the cave, hoping to kill us all," she explained. "The pups will fit through the hole we made, but we won't so they will end up dying any way. Though you might if you're in your human form. Get them out of here and take good care them." I nodded and concentrated on my human form. I felt the familiar sensation chorus through my body. Once the sensation died down I was in my human form. I was still wearing the clothing from my ceremony from 5 years ago and a pair of black wolf ears came up out of my head along with a black wolf tail. My wavy black hair was a little dirty and messed up, but looked fine enough. I picked up one of the pups it had brown tips on the ears and a white body. I crawled up through the hole. It was a tight fit even in human form. The pup pressed tightly against my chest to get out. I clawed my way to the top with one arm while clutching the pup with my other. Once at the top I placed the pup on the ground and pulled myself the rest of the way out. I reached down the hole with half my body inside and grabbed the next pup Luna held out to me. The pup was all black with white paws, it was a bit smaller than the last pup. I held the pup in my hands and pulled myself back out with my legs. I then got the last three pups and said goodbye to Luna.

"Goodbye Luna. Thanks for taking me in and everything. I won't forget you." I gave her a sad smile as tears filled my eyes.

"Goodbye young one. Take care of the pups and yourself." With those goodbyes I pulled myself out and picked up the two of the seven pups and walked away with the last five trailing behind me.

We walked for what seemed like forever. The sun was setting by the time I found a cave for us to rest in. It was on the side of a mountain and was pretty high up. It went pretty deep into the mountain and there was a tunnel at the back of the cave, that was hidden in the dark part of the cave. I placed the pup I had in my hands on the stone flooring and went back for the other six. Once all seven pups were in the cave I started exploring the cave. The tunnel in the back of the room lead to another large room that was perfect to protect the pups. I moved the pups to the large room and set off to find some food to eat.

When I got back down to the ground I realized that we weren't that far from my old village. Since some the pups were so young they need milk instead of deer. I pulled the hood of my robe over my head. I ran the few miles that separated me and my old village.

The village was the same as I remembered it. Houses scattered in no particular order, shops in a circle in the middle of town, and a farmers market on the outskirts of town. I realized that if I wanted some milk for the pups I was going have to get some money. So I headed back into the woods and changed to my wolf form and started the hunt.

I walked a little ways smelling the ground with my nose. After about seven minutes I caught the scent of a small rabbit. I followed the trail to a field of flowers. I knew by the scent of the rabbit that it wasn't a human in spirit animal form. Luna had trained me to know the differences in the scent of a human in their animal form and an actual animal. Luna... I missed her, she was the new mother to me when mine didn't want me.

The pups needed me so I ran towards the rabbit, who was eating a head of lettuce. The rabbit saw me and tried to get away, but I was already on its tail. I jumped on it and snapped its neck with my teeth. I changed back to my human form and picked up the dead rabbit. I hung the rabbit in a near by tree and headed for more prey. I caught three more rabbits before I headed back to town.

When I walked into the butcher shop and put and rabbits on the counter. A fat man whose spirit animal was obliviously a pig. He had beady dark brown eyes, a fat face, thin, gross, oily black hair, pinkish pig like ears, a double chin, and no neck. He was tall and fat. He looked at the rabbits on the counters.

"You want to sell these?" he asked pointing to them.

"Yes," I answered simply looking at him from under my hood. He picked up one of the fattest of them and looked at it.

"I'll give you two coins a pound," he told me.I nodded and he started weighing them on an old, rusty scale with a bloody rag under them. "You have 7 pounds here. That's 14 coins." He handed me 14 coin and I placed them in the pouch on my waist.

"Thank you," I told him with a nod.

"Whatever," he replied. I just he just wasn't that friendly.

I walked out of the butcher shop with my newly earned coins and walked to the farmers market to get some milk. A little stand was set up central of the market. The stand was made of some old, dark wood. Several jars of fresh milk were sitting on the counter, a girl I vaguely remembered, but couldn't put a finger on it, was sitting on an old wooden chair. I walked over to the girl and got a closer look, she had wavy dark brown hair pulled back in a bun and golden eyes. Her spirit animal was probably a Maine Coon, a type of house cat, because she had silky and smooth looking tail with long fur coming out of her cat like ears.

"Hi! What can I do for you?" she asked in a cheery voice.

"I would like to buy some milk," I answered her. She grabbed a bottle of milk from the counter and handed it to me.

"That will be 3 coins, please," she told me. "My name's Victoria by the way," she said holding her hand out to me.

Victoria. That's when I realized that this was my little sister standing in front of me. "Hello Victoria. Does your spirit animal happen to be a Maine Coon?" I asked taking her hand and shaking it.

She smiled. "Sure is. What's with the robe?" she asked.

"Nothing. I just like it. Its comfortable."

"Oh. So, what's your spirit animal?"

"Well I better get going. My family needs the milk," I replied with a nervous laugh holding up the jar of milk.

"Alright, come by any time if you need some milk," she said a little disappointed. I nodded my thanks and headed back to the shops.

I still had 11 coins left and I was going to need some weapons to fight because I couldn't just use my wolf form. I headed into a shop with a forge out back it. It was a large wooden home with two floors, a family must live on the second floor. On the inside there were racks of swords, hammers, daggers, bows, arrows, and spears. A tall and buff man was standing at a counter that had some small throwing knifes on it. The man had a stiff jaw, long dark brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, with a pair of intense brown eyes. He had the ears and tail of panther.

"What kind of weapon are you looking for?" he asked.

"I was wanting a bow and some arrows," I answered. Once I master the bow I move on to the other weapons.

"If you need any help just call," he said with a nod. I walked over to the bows and picked up one that curved in the middle. "That one's a hunting bow," the man said. The bow felt just right and fit my hand perfectly. I picked up some new string for the bow just in case and a quiver of arrows. "That will be 10 coins." I handed him the coins and took my new bow and arrows and swung them onto my back, and picked up the milk along with the string and walked out of the store. I started walking back to the forest to get some meat for the pups and me to eat.

I hope you like it! :)
