Kate sat on the couch watching a movie that was on television. Out of africa. She stared with wide eyes to the screen to that part where Robert Redford was with Meryl Streep around the campfire.
"I'm with you because I choose to be with you. I don't want to live someone else's idea on how to live. Don't ask me to do that. I don't want to find out one day that I'm at the end of someone else's life..." Robert's voice echoed through the television.
Kate bite her bottom lip and grab the remote switching off the television.
She run up to her room ready to kick of with a new lifestyle.
She jump into nice comfortable clothes ready start doing exercises.
It wasn't just the quote on the movie that inspired her to become better. Also the feeling she had inside of her. The feeling to admit you're a mother and has to start taking responsibilities.
Somehow she'll always be haunted by her horrible nightmares, but that doesn't mean she'll have to let them run laps in her mind.
She has a life too of course.
She's actually lucky to still be alive.
Very lucky.
Kate was making proses and began getting stronger again. She was still afraid around people though but when she was alone, and she knew she was alone, it was almost like she was her normal self again.
She did had times where she cried her eyes sitting in the bathroom. She had her breaking points. Same nightmares. Same sleepless nights when the children was there.
She didn't keep them awake. She just spend her alone time painting. That's when the children decided to themselves to sleep more often at their father's place.
But that didn't keep them away. At day they were hers.
