Chaper 3

                   Mackenzie's P.O.V
My brothers liked my hair cut, they didn't know I cut it myself and the real reason I did it was because I was ready for a change. I decided that today I was ditching first period and heading to the roof of the school, I was going to jump off. It was the easiest way, I have already put scars in my wrist so this is what it's come to.
       I hear the bell ring for 1st period and the halls slowly start becoming empty, I make sure no one is looking and I make my way to the roof, I throw off my sweat shirt so my scars are showing and I walk to the ledge, I'm getting ready to throw myself off when I hear a voice behind me "stop" I don't turn around, I know who it is. Instead I keep walking to the edge, I'm right about to fall back when all of a sudden arms are wrapped around me holding m arms to my chest and pulls me back. I fall on the ground on top of Collin who is still holding me. He turns and looks me straight into the eye "what the hell are you doing?"
           His eyes are looking over me, I guess to make sure I'm ok, when they stop at my wrist. Oh shit. He grabs my arm and begins to rub his thumb in circles over my scars, he looks at me "why?" I know what he is Implying but I'm scared to answer, he speaks again "why do you do this to your self? You don't know how many times I have seen you in the halls thinking damn, that girl is cool, I really just want to be friends. So please stay here for me." I'm speechless, I look at him and decide I would simply say an "I'm sorry" he pulls me into a strong hug. I look at him once more "I don't understand why your doing this, I mean, I suck. Your popular and cool, everyone likes you, your everything I'm not. And you come here and say you want to be friends with me! For fucks sake I just meet yesterday! I don't get it!" He looks at me with true concern, like he actually cares. "Because you, Mackenzie Francis Jackson, are truly fantastic." I smile at him, and for once, it's a real smile. He offers to take me back to his house for the rest of the day.

     We are sitting on the couch watching tv when out of nowhere Collin says "promise me you will stay alive until your soul can't handle it anymore." I look at him and he is looking at me with lust in his eyes, beauty. "I promise"
                 Collins P.O.V
I don't think Mackenzie knows how beautiful she is. I know I haven't been official friends with her for long but I have known her since 5th grade. I just don't think she has known me. I say I want my first kiss to be with someone I love and will love forever, someone that is everything to me. And I think that's Mackenzie. I'm brought out of my thoughts by her voice "why are you staring?" Whoops, I was caught "I was just thinking" "about?" "You" she blushes and looks down. I decide I have to do what I have been wanting to do for a long time now. "Mackenzie?" "Yes?" Here goes nothing "I know we have only been official friends for a couple days but I have noticed you since 5th grade. You can say no but I would love to know if you would go on a date with me." She looks at me, as if she is trying to figure out something. She looks at me and says somthing I didn't think anyone knew "you want me to be your first date?" I was shocked, how did she know I have never been on a date??? I didn't want to get into details so I just do what's right "yes" her reply is even better "I would love to"
