Brandon's POV
July 15, 2017 the day my life changed forever. I could never forget the feeling of reading that letter. It read:
Dear Brandon Matthew,
I am truly sorry to inform you that both of your parents, Christine and Adam Matthew have tragically passed in a drunk driving accident. The man who crashed into them is now currently serving 25 years in jail for 2 counts of second degree vehicular manslaughter.
You have now been chosen to be the guardian of your brothers Thomas, Mark, and Ryder. We have been informed that you are in the Army, and we understand that you have 5 days left on your tour. Your brothers will be held in a foster home until you can pick them up.
You do also have the choice of giving up custody. If this is the road you will like to go down please contact your lawyer to fill out the paperwork.

My mind was so jumbled with thoughts. I didn't realize that I was walking into to a zone with an active threat. The only thing I could feel before blacking out was the stinging in my right leg.
