Thomas, Mark, and Brandon Above
Italics = thoughtsBrandon's POV
What if they don't love me, because I didn't visit them? What if they want a mom instead of another dad? How do you explain to kids your gay? All these thoughts keep circling through my head until I realize the taxi has stopped. I thanked the driver, grab my crutches and luggage and hop out of the car. Deep breathes, I was in the Army I can handle this, who am I kidding I can't handle this.
I take one final deep breath and walk into the foster home. I will never forget the terrified look on my brothers faces when I walked through that door. My heart broke when they hesitated to come to me. I could see it on their faces that they were afraid of me. They have meet me before what are they afraid of? Maybe my crutches oh... and then I start to see tears running down their faces.
"Hey boys what's the matter these metal things just help me walk till I get all better I got a boo boo in the Army."
"Your going to leave us just like mommy and daddy," they said in unison as if they practiced that sentence a thousand times.
My heart shattered at that point they thought I would just abandon them. How could they think that? I would never leave them I will love them like my own sons.
"Boys I promise I will always be here for you no matter what happens, ok?"
"Brandon..." Mark whispered.
"Yes buddy?" I ask curious what he is so nervous about.
"Will you be our new daddy?" He asked with so much hopefulness in his voice, you would think I was Santa.
"Of course buddy I will be your daddy, Thomas do you want me to be your daddy too?"
"I want you to be my daddy too pwease," Thomas said with a smile as bright as the sun.
"Ok come on guys we have to go to the airport to fly to my house."
"Lets go daddy," they say and rush out of the room.
Of course they would forget their clothes and... their little brother.
I look down at Ryder and he is staring at me with his huge blue eyes.
"Don't worry Ryder, I love you just as much as the twins, even if you cry all the time." He just looks at me and starts giggling. Got the clothes, check, toys, check, three little maniacs...
"Come on daddy hurry up we didn't know you were so old," Mark said. Check.
"Ok boys lets get the show on the road." They all laugh and run off to the edge of the street. I wave over the taxi and I think to myself this is my new start.
