Oscar, Dean and Jess went to the funeral that was held place on the twenty eighth of February, in the small funeral place on twelfth street avenue.
The setting seemed fitting, as the clouds had just started to turn the most peculiar grey colour when they arrived. Crowds were gathering and with crowds, came rumours. When gossip spread quickly in a small town, the only thing that matters is if you let it affect how you live.
The day went by quickly, people exchanged condolences and a few tears were shed here and there. But somewhere, deep down in oscar's heart, he knew that something was wrong.
He kept contradicting himself, saying that it was an after effect of the coma, but always quickly dismissed the thought.
Jess and Dean felt the same way, but somehow, they couldn't put it into words.Jess kept expecting to look over her shoulder and see the usual, optimistic and cheerful Cassidy there, but her expectations were never met.
Dean was so shell shocked that didn't say one word.
Later that day-
Oscar had just finished taking a shower when he came out of the bathroom and sat down on his bed.
He had nothing to do, so he started crying. He cried and cried until there were no tears left, but instead horrible wailing sounds of an innocent boy whose fate didn't align with him.
People say that it's unmanly like to cry, but those people are wrong. Crying and emotions is what makes us human. He was having an existential crisis but was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing. Why, who would interrupt a sad mans thoughts?
Oscar made his way downstairs and was greeted by the cold, miserable tiles that made his house feel so empty.
He went to open the door, but was extremely startled by what he saw, that he slammed the door shut, locked it and ran all the way back up to his bed again to cry some more.
It was official people, Oscar Cable had lost his sanity! care to come and lock him up in a loony bin with his fellow friends?
These were the types of thoughts that were going through his mind because the person that was at the door was Cassidy Jetternbourge.
