They reached the cliff at precisely 11 PM.
The view would of been spectacular, if it weren't under such horrific circumstances. One by one, they got out of the car and stood at the edge of the cliff.
The breeze was chilly and It was a full moon so it suited the vibe that they were about to go through. They all stood in a line, waiting. They were dead silent. The only sound was the cars passing underneath them, but even that seemed worlds away.
It was finally time.
Oscar stood up, and went behind Cassidy, making sure that his face was covered by a shadow. He followed the precise instructions that Cassidy gave him, from her vision.
Everything was silent.
Everything seemed still.
Nothing mattered except this moment.
All of sudden, a great gush of wind towered over the four humans, nearly knocking them back. A dark figure with clear yellow eyes had been summoned above them and they felt the wrath and fury of the thing.
The death omen had arrived. It was wearing a dark hood and it reminded Jess of a dementor from Harry Potter.
"More innocent souls to corrupt! How delightful!" The death omen stated witticism.
"Well go on, tell me yer names! how 'bout yer age? Maybe your mobile number'"
This had to be a joke.
"Nah, i'm just messin' with ya".
"We are here to put a stop to what you are doing in our town!" Oscar, shouted chivalrously. He surprised them all, including the death omen.
"My my! I've got an interesting' bunch today! And how do yer spose' yer might do that?" The death omen stated.
"With my bare hands if it comes down to it. Besides, we've got a secret weapon".
It looked down at Cassidy and they could all tell that his confidence has cracked.
In other words, if the death omen had a face, the smirk that was once on there was definitely swiped off.
"How foolish of you!" It now had a serious tone and its accent was gone. "You can not defeat me stupid mortal! I am the death omen, I see everything in this town whether you like it or not, I am past and present and I shall do whatever I please because I have a cause far more important than your stupid threats. i've had enough of this."
The death omen swooped down behind oscar and possessed him. Oscars body became controlled with a jolt and the death omen was in control.
"Prepare to die mortals!"
Oscars hand lifted, reached Cassidy and touched the tip of her skin. Cassidy prepared herself for the fall by squinting her eyes, but something was wrong.
A sizzling sound was coming from Oscars hand.As soon as he touched cassidy to push her off the edge, his whole body erupted into flames.
The sound was deafening.
A spirit soared away from the body, but it was not oscars. It was the death omen trying to escape.
It floated and floated but it realised that it was not enough, i mean it stopped a spirit from from entering the afterlife, so he had to pay.
They hadn't decided whether it was fate or just the stars aligning, but the death omen eventually vanished.
That was great and all, by it didn't help the fact that Oscar was still on fire.
He was back to his usual self, so it was not a pretty sight. He was screaming and running around like a crazy person.
Cassidy knew what she had to do. The next act was what put Oscar out of the flames and was what threw him into an abundance of emotional trauma.
Without even thinking, Cassidy Jettornbourge whispered the words "I love you, Oscar Cable" and Jumped off the cliff.
