Athan had his arms crossed leaning his back against the kitchen counter. He was waiting for his cup of blood to warm up. He had woken up early than usual, he was glad most of the windows were covered to stop sunlight from coming through.

He was thinking about the area and thinking if he should try going out by himself. Athan stared at the dark wood flooring and his shoes. He was still dressed in his morning clothing... technically him and would call it 'night clothes'.

The younger vampire rubbed at his eyes tired and heard the ding of the microwave. He took out the mug and went toward the dining table and pulled out a seat.

Athan sat down taking a small sip. He grimaced at the bland taste and leaned back.

Daniel: "I thought I heard something.

Athan's vision traveled up to his brother who was bare except for some pants and a loose leather belt. Daniel had a few scares...and yes a vampire can have them depending on what injured them. Daniel opened the fridge taking out another red plastic bag. He raised it to his teeth and punctured a hole with his fangs.

Athan ran a hand through his hair and shrugged. "Trouble sleeping..."

Daniel squeezed the baggy into another mug and tossed it into the trash before typing a few numbers into the microwave.

Daniel: "Why don't you go out tonight? I have to head over to the city. I won't be able to join you."

The older brother sat across from him and actually looked worried.

Daniel: "Drink....you nee-"

Athan: "-I know what I need....I think I will." He raised the cup to his lips and swallowed.

Daniel: "I know you didn't want to come...but...it could be fun."

Athan snorted, "...Might meet a lycan."

His brother's smile fell, "Athan-"

Athan: "Relax...they are not animals and you know that. Father isn't here-"

Daniel: "He has eyes everywhere and you know how he feels about them."

Athan: "....He's not here and they are not how he describes. I've seen the news. They have jobs here...families...th-"

Daniel: "-They also could rip your head off. Maybe you shouldn't go."

Athan: "I'll do what want. I am an adult remember?"

Daniel opened his mouth when the microwave dinged.  He stood quickly to go over.

Daniel: "They can carry and do carry a grudge against our kind."

Athan turned in his seat, "The only ones who really do are us. That was the past and this is the future. He needs to damn wel-"

Daniel pointed his finger at him, "-Watch your tongue! I understand...I do Athan. I don't want...I can't loose someone else from our family for having such ideas."

The younger of the two looked away knowing what he was talking about. A part of him felt bad...but the other side...he wanted to prove them wrong.

Athan: "Two years....no more. He has to change." Athan took the last swallow of blood before standing. "Or you will loose someone else...Daniel."

The black haired man sighed deeply as his little brother left to go to his room. He gripped the counter shaking his head. "He'll never change."

He drunk the crimson liquid and made a face at the taste. Daniel headed out of the kitchen bumping into someone. It was Mathew. His dark green eyes stared him down and Daniel did the same. The tall skinny vampire was dressed in a long black leather coat and basically everything humans imagine vampires to look like now.
