I blink a few times. It was still dark. I look over to the alarm clock beside my bed.
12:47am.
I see a light source across the room, lighting up Amy's face. She was on her phone, back towards the wall, facing me. I couldn't see what was on her phone.
Now, the fact she's awake didn't surprise me. She's always been quite the insomniac. But the position she was in...almost as if she was hiding something. Normally, she'd just be under the covers beside my bed, in her makeshift bed she always made. She refused to sleep in my bed and let me sleep on the floor.
"Amy?" I ask, half asleep.
"What!" She drops her phone and it clatters to the floor. Must've scared her.
"What...." I yawn. "What're y' doin'?" I ask, half asleep
"Oh, um...nothing." I sigh.
"Are you still working on.....finding who did it? That must be stressful, and you certainly don't need stress at," I check the clock once more and rub my eyes. "12:49am.You can't sleep as it is."
"Oh. Oh, yeah, I was doing that...sorry.." She apologized.
"You don't need to apologize..."
"Oh, sorry." She apologizes once more.I smile and roll my eyes. She picks up her phone, closes everything, and shuts it down. She gets into her 'bed'.
"Good night, Amy.."
"Good night."
---
I wake up with a start. Amy is nowhere to be seen. I sit up and grab my slippers and walk into the living room...hm. Amy is on the couch, on her phone again.
"Good morning.." She yawns.
"Good morning," I say back. I smell something...
"Mom?"
"Yes, hun?" She calls from the kitchen.
"What are you cook-" I stop when she walks into the living room, carrying three plates. Bacon and toast, along with a pancake, was on each one. I stand up and grab two plates, one for me and one for Amy.
"Thank you," I say, and she nods.
I sit back down next to Amy and hand her her plate.
"So, Amy, made any progress?" I ask.
"Not much. I think they knew your password, though, so...does that narrow it down a lot?"
"Let's see....You know, of course. And so does Ellie, Cass, Maddie...." I name off some of my IRL best friends. "And aside from them, Kricken, Bayani, and Graser."
She frowns. "Why do you share it with so many people?"
"I'm a trusting person! Also, I'm sure all of those people are trustworthy!" I defend myself.
Amy rolls her eyes. "You need to be more secretive."
"Yeah, whatever."
