'Beep.....beep.....beep.....beep.....' Something very loud was going off rythimically net to my ear. It was very annoying.......

Where am I?

I open my eyes and--nope. So much nope. My head was pounding, and when my eyes opened I was instantly exposed to a light that could rival the sun. Bright white, very bright white, and it didn't help my headache one bit. Judging by the lights, the noises, and the sound of what I assumed to be the TV only on one side of me, I know exactly where I am. The hospital. I sigh. As if on cue, a nurse enters, holding a syringe filled with some liquid. I groan, my eyes adjusting to the light. I tried to sit up and noticed a sharp pain in my ribs, forcing me to lay back down.

"Oh good, dearie, you're awake." She smiled and wiped a cotton swab with alcohol on it onto my arm, preparing the place she would inject the medicine into. I yawned, only for the pain in my chest to spike up. "Now, I'm your nurse, Daniella. This is a pain medication we were giving you while you were asleep, which, wasn't for long. Not even a day..."

"What town is this hospital in? Me and my mom were on a trip when we.....crashed.."

Daniella smiled. "Well, sweetie, you're in a town called Kirkland. Ever heard of it?"

"Nah, not really...is it close to Seattle?" I ask.

"It's not too far..." She mumbled. "Okay, so, if you're wondering what's wrong with you, you have two broken ribs and a mild concussion. Please relax for a moment." She said matter-of-factly, now going over to move the upper half of the bed upwards, making me sit up. I relax and she injects the medicine.

All of a sudden, panic hit me. "W-what happened to my mom?" I stuttered.

The nurse smiled sadly. "She had to be put into surgery. Something severely damaged her lungs. She might not make it, but so far, so good....I'm sorry, hun."

Tears found their way out of my eyes and down my cheeks. But hey, Mom will live, right?

...right, heheh--

Oh wait, Jordan must be wondering where we are...our relatives must be, too.

"Can you do me a favor?"

"Sure, hun, what do you need?"

"I need to use a phone."

~~~ JORDAN'S POV~~~
I check my phone. No messages or calls from Kendall. She was supposed to be here hours ago. I'm getting worried. I turn the TV on to get my mind off of it, she's probably completely fine. The news was on.
"-in Kirkland, where a young girl and presumably her mother wrecked." The news anchor's voice cut in right in the middle of her sentence. "According to IDs and drivers licenses, their names were Kendall and Elle Banks."
..oh, God. Please no.
Pictures flashed on the screen, and sure enough, it was Kendall and a woman who I assumed was her mother.
My phone rang. Unknown number. I answer it and press the phone to my ear.
"..hello?" I answered.
"Jordan?" Relief rushed through me. It was Kendall on the other end.
"Yeah."
"I'm assuming you know what happened?"
"Pretty much."
"...just didn't want you to worry about me." She mumbled.
"Mmhmm. I was worried for a while there."
Awkward silence finds its place into the conversation.
"Oh, uh, sorry.....I, uh, I should be out within the next week or so." She says.
"I could always come visit you, Kirkland is only about twenty minutes or so away."
"That's not necessary,.I'm fine. Just a two broken ribs and a mild concussion. That's all."
"'Fine'? Doesn't sound like it, heh..."
~~~KENDALL'S POV~~~

He was worried? Maybe he does care about me. I've fallen hopelessly in love over the past months, and that really sucks. No, it does, really. They say love is a wonderful thing, but it's horrible. 'But Kendall,' You ask, 'What's so bad?'

Well, several things. One, everytime we talk, I get all flustered. It's ridiculous. Two, I don't need another relationship that could shatter in a heartbeat. Three, I'm positive some of my viewers have picked up on it. The only person who knows is Sydney. My patience for this crush to pass is wearing thin, and I'm worried it won't leave. I know that that seems like the cliche plot for a fanfiction, but evidently this happens in real life. Except it's horrible instead of wonderful. Blegh.

"Ms. Daniella...when do you think I should be out?" I ask when me and Jordan get finished talking.

"11 days at most, four days at least."

"Thank you..." I call my relatives to explain the situation before going to sleep. After all, there's nothing else to do.

This is gonna be a long week...but Jordan did say he'd be coming over tomorrow, so that's good.

Or....ugh, not, I'll get flustered and embarrass myself. No hiding my blush now, eh?

Dammit.

---Next day---

As Dani entered, I asked about my mom. "Is she okay?"

Dani smiled. "She's doing much better. The surgery went as planned."

I grinned, letting out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. "Yess!"

She chuckled, bringing the yucky hospital breakfast in. That stuff sucks.

I took my morning medicine and grabbed a magazine I had asked Dani to get, lazily flipping through the pages for anything to catch my attention after Dani left. The hours ticked by, and I found myslef quickly getting bored as I waited for Jordan.
