Flameheart to Flamestar

Chapter 4

Flamestar woke up and ran down the highledge. She met Lionheart and he nodded at her to show he had already assigned the cats to go to the gathering. Dewkit ran over to her

"Im sorry Flamestar." He said softly and Flamestar smiled

"There is nothing to be sorry about I just wanted to save a kit." She said and Dewkit purred and ran back to Sorrelfur and his sister Featherkit. She sat next to Sorrelfur as the two kits played

"Their getting old." Sorrelfur said softly and Flamestar

"In another moon they will be old enough to be apprentices." Flamestar purred and looked into the sky. She had woke up too late.

"It's time for the gathering!" She yowled out and the patrol of cats for the gathering came and walked with her to the gathering island. Dawnclan was the second clan there. Stormclan was the first and Leafclan was right behind them. Flamestar crossed the tree bridge and a few warriors and an apprentice started to cross the bridge. The apprentice was struggling to take a grip and slipped. Flamestar reached out and snagged the apprentice and put her on the island next to her

"Careful little one." She said softly and walked through the trees and climbed the tallest one. She sat on a branch next to Whitestar and Rainclan walked in. Featherstar from Rainclan climbed up next to her and Darkstar from Leafclan sat next to Featherstar. Darkstar started

"Prey has been good. We have new apprentices, Lionpaw and Firepaw." He said and was finished. Featherstar stepped forward

"Prey has been running good as well. We have a new apprentice, Heatherpaw." She said. Whitestar stepped forward

"We had an attack on one of our apprentices, Pinepaw. Thankfully Dawnclan was willing to help. Pinepaw is fine. I'm warning you all to watch out for strange cats." He said and nodded the Flamestar. She took a deep breath and stepped forward

"Dawnclan has been fine. We were very happy to help Stormclan with their troubles. As Whitestar said keep a watch for wandering cats." She said and Whitestar jumped down

"Gathering is over." Whitestar said and the rest of the leaders jumped down. Flamestar jumped from the branch and almost fell on her face when she tripped but Featherstar helped her stay steady

"Thank you." She said and Featherstar nodded. Flamestar gathered her clan and started to leave. She was carrying the apprentice that almost fell in the water by its scruff. She crossed the tree bridge and put the apprentice down on the ground. She kept walking and her clan followed behind her. They got back into Dawnclan territory and Lionheart ran to her

"Yes?" She asked and Lionheart walked beside her

"You seem... worried." Lionheart said

"Worried? I'm not worried. Why would I be worried?" She asked. Lionheart was right, she was worried. About everything. Lionheart sighed and they continued to walk without a word. An apprentice ran past her and into the clearing and met a few other apprentices that were eager to know what had happened. Flamestar and the rest of the cats walked in and the clan greeted them. It was really late. Flamestar walked over to the group of apprentices

"Ok little ones it's late. Who knows the leader might tell the deputy to put you all on a few border and hunting patrols. Now go to sleep." She said softly and the apprentices ran inside the apprentice den. Flamestar smiled and walked away. It started raining after all the cats were inside their dens and Flamestar was the last one out there. She looked into the sky and at the last few stars. She sighed and walked to her den. She walked in and laid in her nest. She sighed and closed her eyes. When she opened them she was beside Dapplestar in her den.

"Dapplestar what are we doing here? Am I asleep?" She asked and Dapplestar nodded

"Yes your asleep but you have a prophecy I need to give you." Dapplestar said and looked hopeful

"There will be four cats yourself and three that you love. They will join together to stop the darkness from rising again. It is Flame, Rain, Snow, and Lion's job to stop it." He said and started to fade.

"Wait no!" She yowled and woke up. She ran down the highledge. Dapplestar had made it perfectly clear.

"Lionheart!" She yowled and Lionheart looked at her

"Yes Flamestar?" Lionheart asked.

"Come to the clear space with Rainstrike and Snowcloud!" She said and ran to the clear space. Later the three came towards her and she purred.

"Were a part of a prophecy." She said and the others looked at her in shock.

"What do you mean?" Snowcloud finally asked and Flamestar stood up and paced in front of them

"There will be four cats yourself and three that you love. They will join together to stop the darkness from rising again. It is Flame, Rain, Snow, and Lion's job to stop it." She quoted Dapplestar's exact words.

"What did it mean when it said 'to stop the darkness from rising again?'" Rainstrike asked. Flamestar stood tall and looked at them

"The dark forest. It mean the dark forest is rising again and we have to be the ones to stop it." She said
