Y/N's POV:
"What do you mean you want me hide my powers? I can't even control them much less hide them," I said standing up pacing the floor.
"Listen, I love the people here. Their very understanding but this place has been hurt by magic and now they are less accepting. They are even wary about my magic and I have been living here for quite a while now," Lucinda said with a matter of fact tone.
I huff and slump back into my chair, "Then what do we do. I have lord duties that I need to do now. I can't just hide in my room."
She nodded, "I know that's the problem."
She walked over to her owl and almost seemed to have a conversation with it. They "talked" for a while. I even started to fall asleep. It had been a really rough day and all I wanted to do was go to sleep and wake up.
"OF COURSE!"
I jumped at the sudden outburst from Lucinda. She quickly ran downstairs leaving me to catch my breath. She then ran back to me with a silver bracelet in her hand (picture above).
"This is what will stop your powers from getting out of control."
I look down at the bracelet she had placed in my hands. I looked at her with my E/C eyes, only one question going through my mind."Will it work?"
She looked down at her feet and answered me.
"If you want my honest answer, I'm not sure. I haven't ever used magic like this."
I sigh and put the bracelet around my wrist. It was a perfect fit.
"I wish we had time to worry about this, but I have others things to worry about. I have duties I need to do today. I trust you Lucinda. I think it will work."
She gave me a wary look.
"Just be careful, this isn't a permanent. You need to learn how to control your powers."
"I know, we just need to find someone. Can you look?"
She looked at me like I insulted her.
"Please, of course I can!"
I laugh and decide now is a good time to take my leave. I grab my F/C cloak and wrapped it around me and headed out back into the village, making sure to avoid Brenden on the way.
That's the last thing I need is to run into Brenden and him asking questions.
I soon made my way back to my house to see what needed done for the day. I was almost to my house when I ran into the Casanova himself.
"Well hey there pretty."
I roll my E/C eyes and continue walking.
"Nice try Laurance, don't you have somewhere to be?"
His emerald eyes widened.
"Shoot I forgot I have guard duty this afternoon. See you later Lord Y/N"
He quickly ran off to the main gates. I laughed a little and soon entered my house. I hung up the F/C cloak and went into the bathroom to do something with my unruly H/L H/C hair. I quickly brush it out and examine it to make sure that it looked okay. I then quickly check my appearance to make sure I still looked okay. The bruises had faded a lot, but they were still noticeable. I decided I should check the cut too. I quickly looked at it. A thin white line was all that was left.
Looks like all that is left is a scar. Thank Irene.
I decided I should try to get some work done so I walked over to my kitchen table and started writing out letters to send out to the local villages letting them know about the change of leadership.
Knock Knock
"Come in!"
Garroth soon entered the room.
"Good afternoon Lord Y/N! We never got to do our morning report. You actually weren't in here. Is everything alright?"
I force a smile.
He can't find out!
"Uh, yes! Everything is fine. I just had to meet with Lucinda this morning and I completely spaced to tell you."
He looked at me suspiciously but didn't question me. He leaned closer and looked at me with his beautiful blue eyes.
"So I was thinking since you skipped our meeting this morning we could have lunch together."
A slight blush appeared on my face, (A/N: I couldn't think of another way to word this....) and I leaned closer to him as well.
"I would absolutely love to."
He smiled at me that always made my heart melt and got up from the table. He took my hand in his and kissed the back of it, sending a shiver up my back.
"Hey, is this new," he asked looking at the bracelet.
"OH this old thing. PFFF of course not. I just haven't wore it since I have been here," I said adding a nervous laugh afterwards.
He have me a confused look and I just smiled at him innocently. He seems to shrug it off and we head off to Kawaii-Chan's shop.
Thank Irene he didn't ask about it. I don't know how long I will be able hide this from him.
