1 week later...

Garroth's POV:

Everything seemed to be in order with the village recently especially considering how crazy everything was 2 weeks ago, but now everyone seemed to calm down and relax. They all got along with Lord Y/N. They loved her, just like they loved Aphmau. I smile at the thought of Y/N. My Irene she is amazing. The way her E/C eyes light up with excitement when given a new challenge. She loves the people and that is the kind of lord the people of Phoenix Drop need. Though something has been on my mind lately.

Y/N has been acting a little bit off lately. She gets jumpy whenever we talk about the magic. She also hasn't opened up about Zane yet either, but I am not going to push her. She has been through a lot. The last thing I want to do is remind her of what she has been through.

I shake off those thoughts and continued to Lord Y/N's house. I just need to talk to her about the guard schedule. I get close to her door when I see a soft blue light glowing from underneath the door. I put my hand on my sword and leaned into the door. There were voices talking, so I decide to listen in.

Y/N's POV:

"Lucinda, do we have to keep doing this. It's been 2 hours now! I'm exhausted," I say, leaning against the wall, a few pieces of ice still on the floor.

She shook her head.

"Nope! Not until I see you get rid of all the ice. Then we call it quits."

I groan and stretch out my hands to the remaining pieces of ice.  My hands soon  glowed a light blue color and I brought my hands up and out. When I looked at the ice, I see that it is gone. I turn to Lucinda with a triumphant smile. This was the first time I was able to accomplish it myself. I can now successfully form ice and make it go away. It isn't very strong ice, but it isn't bad.

Lucinda smiled at me, "See, you did it! Now all we have to work on is making it stronger. But, good job. Rest up. We will be doing this again tomorrow."

I walked her to the door when she turned to look at me.

"Nobody knows you have magic, right?"

I nod my head.

"Yes, although it has been hard hiding it from Garroth, but nobody knows."

She nods her head in approval.

"Good. And lets keep it that way for a while."

I sigh and sit down in my chair, "Lucinda, how long do I need to hide it from Garroth. I mean, we are kinda sorta dating! He is also my head guard, he deserves to know."

She looked at me with sympathy.

"I'm sorry. We can't risk it. Not yet. Give it a few weeks, then we can consider it."

I nod slightly and walk Lucinda to the door. I open the door and to my horror Garroth was standing right there.

He looked at me and Lucinda suspiciously.

I was shocked to see him but quickly hid it. "Garroth! What a surprise! I wasn't expecting to see you yet. Is everything okay?"

Whatever he was thinking before seemed to pass.

"I was just concerned. I saw a blue light under the door and assumed something was wrong."

Knowing that I wasn't a good liar decided to speak for me.

"That was just me practicing some new magic. I wanted to see what Lord Y/N thought about it so she wouldn't get freaked out whenever she comes over to my house."

I nod in agreement

Thank Irene one of us can lie well... not that it is a good thing.

"I just wanted to make sure. It is my job to make sure things don't go to crazy. Have a good day you two."

Without a single word he walks away leaving me and Lucinda, both of us letting out a breath we didn't know we hadn't been holding.

Lucinda then stepped across the doorway and turned to me.

"Remember, DON'T TELL ANYONE!"

She then turned away and went on the path back to her house.

I sigh and close the door. I walk over to my chair and slump in it. One thought running through my head.

I HAVE to keep this a secret...

Garroth's POV:

Y/n HAS POWERS?!?!
