"Meow"
The girl looked up at the source of the sound. Styx was looking at her from the top of the window sill. His blue eyes shone with curiosity.
Seeing that it's just him, the girl continue with her work. Plotting to steal food from one of the many stalls in the market. She scanned the area. There were a few people walking about, buying from the stalls.
A woman walked passed her. Carrying a bag of goods on her right hand. The girl looked at the direction from where the woman had came from. She saw an unfamiliar stall there. She went to the market on a daily basis but she had never seen that stall before. Maybe there's a new merchant in town?
She approached the stall slowly. Aiming to see what it has to offer. Standing a few feet away from the stall, she saw the many spices and herbs neatly arranged in small sacks. The merchant turned to look at her after talking to one of the customers.
"Hey there, kid. Did your mother sent you to buy something?". He said with a lively tone. He smiled kindly at her.
The girl looked startled. Clearly not used to be treated with warmth, especially by a complete stranger. She had never seen the merchant around town before, so maybe he is new in town?
"Uh.. No I-I just wanted to take a look." She replied, stuttering. She could feel many eyes watching her now. Her ragged clothes are not a good act into hiding who she is. Seeing how many things she had stolen. However no one in the market said a word.
"Say, are your parents around?" The merchant asked. His tone sounding a bit concern.
With that, the girl looked at him and answered quietly. "No.."
"Oh, are they at home? Or maybe you're with your guardian?"
"No... I lived on my own"
The girl saw that the merchant looked at her with pity. Then she heard someone spoke behind him. "Oh, you poor thing!" a dark haired woman approached from behind the man. She practically push him out the way (in which the girl could hear him protest) to look at the girl. She looked at her with a single glance before turning around and walk out of the stall.
The woman approached her. She kneel down and take off the girl's hood to take a closer look. The woman inspected her dirt covered face (which had been dirty again even though she had clearly wash it early in morning). After she had finished looking through her, the woman smiled kindly.
"Are you hungry? I have some food for you" The woman asked her. The simple mention of food made her perk up. Before she could speak, her stomach growled loudly.
"Well that might be a self-explanatory answer in its finest" The man spoke before the woman could. He had been watching the whole time the inspection had taken place. The woman just sighed at him. "Shut up, Stephen"

The girl sat quietly on the stool. Munching on the bread with a content look on her face. The two adults in the area took the opportunity to get into a conversation. The girl couldn't make out what they're talking about due to it being spoken in an entire different language.
Even tho she couldn't understand what was being said, she can't help but feel amused at the man's face, which shows deep annoyance and the woman's calm look as she replied to the man's (rude sounding) words. Which made the man looked more angry.
A few exchange of incomprehensible words later, the man groaned loudly and proceed to walk way from the woman. Bringing a small bag with him.
