'Fuck, fuck, fuck! Tord is going to kill himself and it's all my fucking fault,' Tom thought while running on the wet grounds of the campus.
Edd and Matt were behind him, they rushed to Tom's car in the down fall of rain, getting soaked to the bone.
Trying again, Tom tried calling his lover just to for it to come to voicemail. The only reason why he didn't go visit sky boy was because Edd told him about the condition he was in.
"Edd what if he's dead by the time we get there?!" blue boy shouted.
"We have to hurry!" green boy shouted back.
Mirror boy was silent except for the fear stricken look glued onto his face. The trio finally made it to Tom's blue car. All of them hopped inside.
Tom gripped the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white. His heart was rushing a thousand miles an hour. Cola boy placed his clammy hand on Tom's.
"Calm down. Do you want me to drive?" Edd asked gently.
Blue boy nodded. The two of them switched seats. Edd placed the silver keys in the ignition, the car sputtered to life, driving immediately out of the parking lot. All was silent except for the escaping sounds of the rain disciplining the ground.
The road was illuminated by the headlights of the car, the rain was pouring down harder by the minute. Edd had his right hand out to comfort Tom's pale one. Fear was coursing dangerously through him.
"I'm scared for him Edd," blue boy mumbled while gripping the other wandering hand tighter. He held for dear life.
"I am too, but I'm sure he'll be okay, I know he will be," his supporting words rolled off his tongue with ease but he knew that they were easily lies. Truth was far from reach at this point. No point in trying to find it.
Matt spoke up.
"What if he's not alright? We have to make it before he hurts himself badly. What if we never see him again? Hear his voice?"
Edd looked in the mirror to give Matt a hard stare.
"That's not helping, Matt."
The purple boy avoided his gaze by staring out the blurry window of the car.
Silence once again took over the atmosphere, stressing the heck out of Tom. Edd of course noticed the distressed boy and held his hand closer to his chest.
"How about you listen to some music on your phone, Tom? It could help distract you so you don't have an attack."
Tom nodded and pulled out his checkered phone along with his black earbuds. He placed them in his ears softly and carefully. Blue boy scrolled through his music playlist, playing the first thing he saw.
Music soothed him at desperate times. Made him feel isolated, safe. Almost as if nobody else was in the world except him and the soft melodies ringing in his ears. Through thick and thin, music was always there for him.
As time went on, the car ride seemed to extend, slower. Getting longer and longer by the second. Time seemed to speed up exactly when Tord texted Tom back. A flurry of videos and photos appeared on the blue boys small screen, all of them were of him and Tord, sometimes just Tord or just Tom.
"Edd," blue boy tugged at Edd's green sleeve.
The cola boy focused his attention on the road, paying no mind to Tom.
"Edd!"
Edd acknowledged him.
"What is it?"
"He replied!"
A small gasp escaped from Edd's lips.
"Reply!"
Tom replied hastily.
Tom: Tord?
Tord: Thanks for the memories
Tom: TORD?!
There was no reply for the longest time. It seemed like centuries had past.
Tord: Out of all the adventures you, I, Edd, and Matt have made, my best adventure was you
Tom: Listen to me, don't do what you're doing Tord.
Tord: Bye Tom
Tom: Tord?
Tom: Tord!!!?
He waited a few moments to come with no answer, tears ran down his pale cheeks in a rush. The sky cleared all at once, the sky was a perfect blue. Edd stopped the car.
"Something isn't right," he couldn't seem to feel the connection with the sky boy any longer, all there was, was a blank slate.
They sat at the edge of the road in Tom's car, waiting for a sign. Waiting for the sky to shift colors. But nothing happened. Just plain old baby blue skies.
"He's dead," Tom mumbled. "I'll never hear his voice, his laugh, see his smile, watch the sunset with him, see the sky change colors ever again."
Tom pounded his fists against his car, scabbing them, causing them to bleed. His tears spilled over like a can of beans.
"It's all my damn fault."
Edd placed a hand in his shoulder.
"It's not your fault."
Tom let himself into the care of the star boy, crying like a child who just learned that both of his parents are dead.
All that was shed in that car were darkened tears.
The End.
