The coldness of the afternoon nipped at his toes. The sky shown a beautiful baby blue with plump, puffy clouds accompanying it. With a book in hand, the sky boy sat at the top of a tree. It was a nice day out.
Music was playing from the speaker placed next to him. A few birds sang along with it. Sky boy was alone with nothing but himself and the company of the words on the pages in front of him.
"The boy sat alone in the tree," he read aloud.
He was kind of hoping someone to show up as soon as he said that, but no one did. For now he was stuck in his own little world until someone comes and drags him out of it.
Tord put the book down beside him and then tugged his sweater downwards to straighten it. He then jumped from the branch to fall and roll around in the damp soaked grass below. His giggles filled the air and the sun shone a bit brighter than before in response. The flowers around him seemed to smile at him.
His smile seemed to bring life to all the living things around him. It didn't make him feel lonely at all. This is what he did all day everyday until someone came along.
Tord sat up straight and looked around him with his grey eyes sparkling. He plucked a few flowers and then twisted their stems together making a flower crown. Sky boy placed it upon his head which made his smile spread into a bigger one.
With another handful he slowly stood with then throwing the flowers in the air and laughing. He spun round and round with his arms outstretched. The sky flickered to a bright warm orange that melted the clouds. The sky was blank but comforting.
It began to get cold out causing the boy to shiver a bit. He stood in the middle of the field with a grin still glued to his face. Undercover Martyn played in the background making him sing along. It soon resorted to him dancing along. The flowers flew from his blonde hair as he danced. The sky still changed colors, but happy ones.
A figure came running from the distance. It seemed worried as it came over. Tord realized it was just Tom being a worried mother as always.
"Hey Tom."
"The colors were changing a lot and I thought something happened to you," Tom scolded, out of breath.
"Dance with me Tommy!" Tord giggled while grabbing the blue boy's hand.
The sky boy spun him around and laughed. Tom couldn't resist and smiled at the energetic boy. Tom soon danced along with the music too with laughs spilling from his lips.
"You hid there last time, you know we're gonna find you," the two sang in sync with the music.
At the end of the song, Tom tackled Tord into a hug and placed a kiss on his cheek. The two lied in the grass for a long time together.
"It's getting cold, we should get back," Tom said in a motherly voice.
"I don't wanna."
"C'mon Tord. I don't want you to get sick and then I'd have to take care of you like..." he shuddered. "an adult."
"Five more minutes."
"Whenever you say five more minutes it turns into a hour."
"Pleeeeasse?"
"No. C'mon."
Tom helped the sky boy up with him pouting. He always pouted when he didn't get what he wanted.
"I'll make it up to you, Tord."
"Ice cream date?"
Tom sighed.
