Nicki and I were finally hanging out. For the first time since school started. If it weren't for the piles and piles of Nicki's pending homework, we could have seen each other at home for more than 5 minutes a day.
She does a years worth of homework everyday and still manages to finish it. Not to mention enjoy it.The stuff that we get to do was more like first grade math to her. You know, the time when the hardest question was 13 multiplied by 2. Perks of being a genius. Or burden? I wasn't sure which one.
"You wanna know something really cool about frozen yogurt? When they..."
"I really don't." I stopped her before she could ruin my appetite. "Last time you told me 'something cool', it ruined milk chocolate for me."
"It's not my fault that you dont know what you eat." Nicki said with a shrug.
We were sitting at Fruits and Berries, eating all the frozen yogurt and eclairs that our heart desired. Nicki had an 'Eat All You Want' day once every month. On that day, the girl did nothing but stuff her face with curbs and everything unhealthy. On any other day, getting her to eat as much as a little piece of chips was impossible.
Nicki and I were having a competition on who could finish 2 eclairs in least time, when someone cleared their throat behind me.
"I fink hees fwynna gesh your ashention." Nicki said when I didn't turn around. She had so much food in her mouth I couldn't understand her.
"What?" I said after swallowing quickly and started eating again.
"I shai...." and then she took a large sip of water. "I said i think he's trynna get your attention."
And then i heard the familiar chuckle. My head made a 180 turn faster than the wind. Although I knew who it was my eyes widened at the sight of his smug face.
"That was...something." he said as his friend and he took a seat next to me. Nicki stared at us awkwardly, unsure of what to do. Nicki was the complete opposite of me when it comes to people. She takes a lot of time warming up to them.
"Oh God.!" I groaned and covered my face in embarassment when his friend sat on the other side of me.
"Oh relax. You don't have to be embarassed. That's nothing I haven't seen before." Jaime said pinching my very red cheek.
"When did you ever see me do that before?" I said glaring at him.
"Uh...not...I mean...other girls. I've seen other girls do that." Jaime said. His friend raised an eyebrow at him with a smirk on his face.
"Oh yeah babe. This is my friend Justin." Jaime said. Noticing my confused expression, he added, "He's in college now."
"I'm sorry. Babe?" I couldn't believe my ears when Nicki spoke.
"What?" Jaime and I said at the same time.
"You called her babe." This time Justin and Nicki spoke at the same time. Now that was beyond weird.
