Jaime and I texted all through the weekend. It felt like everything was finally getting better ever since I came to New York.
Short of a trip with Nicki, I stayed in the whole weekend.

Nicki and I went to Brooklyn to meet one of her favourite teacher's (ex teacher) on Saturday. He was their science teacher her freshman and sophomore year.

Apparently he taught them until he finished college himself.
I didn't realize the reason she was meeting up with her ex-teacher until I saw him. He was just a 21 year old guy. Like her, he was a genius got his doctrate at 19 and worked as an Engineer.
Not to mention how good he was on the eyes. Boy was he good on the eyes.

First thing I did after getting to school was sending a group message to April and Nicki, telling about Evan. Nicki replied instantly saying it wasn't like that. And that triggered April, who teased Nicki.

We were still texting when the lunch period came. I had a bad influence on Nicki. April; she was always like this.

"That's a lot of smiling." As usual, Jaime came up from behind me, startling me.

"Stop doing that." I said glaring.

"Why are you smiling so much? Thats not me you're texting." He asked while we walked to the cafeteria.

"You aren't the only one I text." I said popping the p at him.

"Are you texting a boy?" He asked. We were almost at the lunch line by then.

"Maybe." I said speeding up a little. But Jaime held my wrist suddenly and stopped me.

"Who?" He asked.

"What?" I asked, biting my lips to stop myself from laughing.

"Who are you texting?" He asked, walking moving closer.

"What's it to you?" I asked again.

"Other boys don't get to make you smile." He said.

"And why not?" This time I actuallly let out a laugh.

Jaime moved so close this time, our faces were only a few inches apart. Then put his lips next to my ear and whispered, "cause you're mine."
And then he moved away.

"What if I was texting my boyfriend?" I asked Jaime before choosing a salad.
Jaime, who always gave me a hard time for not eating enough, took a club soda.

Instead of taking a seat infront of me, he sat next to me and threw his arm over the back of my chair.
"Do you? Have a boyfriend?" He asked.

"I might." I replied.

"Even if you do, what I said doesn't stop being true." He said sitting back and folding his arms on his chest.

"I'm sorry, do I look like a piece of property to you?" I asked, a little pissed. But mostly happy he cared that much. All the confirmation I needed to know that he liked me back. Except maybe it wasn't that. Maybe I was just a challenge to him.

Max and April appeared at that moment. "Dude. She keeps saying that I..."

"Go somewhere else." Jaime and I said together, not even taking a glance at our friends. We were both facing each other with hands folded on her chests.
They remained there for a while before April dragged Max with her, followed by Blake.
