Heart of purity, valor, perseverance! (What we are.)
Raised ever so high whether plain, cornfield, concrete,
Winds praise your name, carrying songs to their worrying ancestors (an antidote.)
Born from thousand woven threads, blood, indigo, starched cloth,
Contrasted but united, common destinies, the single broad band stripe of freedom,
Contrasting but united
Under same circumstances (the real unifier!)
Born under toil of adept soldier, the drum beater, translator,
And the thousand acts of civilians
Whose battles are waged within.
Thunderclaps of bombs destroy you not, nor furious wildfire,
Imperialist plots attempt to break you, but you grow stronger,
A cry of a traitor tries to tamper your minds, but you resist,
Some offer you fruits of betrayal, but you squash them.
Be strong my fellow flag, for you are the embodiment of all things I wish to be.
