THE WEST WIND

Weaving through empty seas
I stand tall
Though it is impossible with this hunched back
A storm closes down on me
My ship wriggles about to fall
But I will be alright
I know someone will fix it

There is iron stuck in my compass
Which I do not care to take out
There is an ink stain on my map
Which I do not care to clean

I hear the West Wind
Calling my name
I hear the West Wind
Telling me to sway away
The West Wind (the West Wind)
The West Wind (the West Wind)
But why do I stay?

I sit by a briny expanse
Drawn to the song of sirens
Guided by temptation
Not my own realities
But tell me a good reason
Why I should follow these?

What the fish tell me seems wrong
But I reel them in anyway
I don't believe in a way out
Because the storms always lingered

Suddenly I hear the West Wind
Calling my name
I hear the West Wind
Telling me to sway away
The West Wind (the West Wind)
The West Wind (the West Wind)
But tell me why do I stay?

But what will I do?
Do I stay or go?
Place baby feet on foreign sand
Or writhe in stormy seas forever
I call and call and call
For you fellow West Wind
But then I realize
The West Wind only calls once

I heard the West Wind
Calling my name
I heard the West Wind
Telling me to sway away
The West Wind (the West Wind)
The West Wind (the West Wind)
The West Wind (calling my name)
The West Wind (telling me to sway away)
The West Wind
Is mine to take!
