Chapter 20 [part 2] The End

The week went by so fast. Here I was in front of the mirror with Elsa, my mom and grandmother trying to put the wedding gown on me. A tear escaped my eyes when I saw what my mom was carrying around with her, on her necklace.

She had a beautiful heart shaped pendant and inside of it there was a picture of my dad smiling. I kept staring at it through the mirror.

"My baby girl is getting married today. I can't believe it. Here! I have something for you" my mom said in a sweet voice. " I brought your dad here today with the help of this pendant. He's here in our hearts. Just remember that." she said as she handed me the envelope.

I opened it and there was a letter that my dad wrote to me before he died, on his hospital bed.

" My dearest Jo Mika,

I'm here on this hospital bed and to be honest I don't think I have many chances to survive. I know it. You know it, but I have never met someone as strong as you. I'm writing this because I know I won't be there when your knight in shinning armour will marry you. I wish I could be there to see you in your beautiful wedding dress. White was always your thing. 

My innocent baby girl, you've become a women by the time you are reading this. I asked your mom to keep it and only give this letter to you on the day you get married. I'm sure you chose the greatest man and I'm more than proud of you baby girl. You've been through so much. I never wanted to put you in this position. I never meant to hurt you. You were and still are the most important thing that happened in my life. You were the only project that went right. When you were born I only saw you. You became the center of my Universe. You put your little fingers in my palm and that's when I felt that you, my darling, will be the best thing in my life. You smiled at me and I knew that you will have a great life. That smile of yours is probably what got the boy to love you. That smile could light up this whole town.

Jo, I know it's hard for you, but I'm trying my best. I promise I will always be there for you no matter what. Just look up at the sky and as the brightest star shines, you'll know that I'm there. I love you madly. Talk about me with your children. Let them meet me, because I'll be there for them too. Ohhh, how I would have loved to be a grand dad. You will have the most beautiful kids in the world. 

Kiss your mom for me and hug her tight. I'm sorry I left you both alone. 

Smile and walk down that aisle and make your man happy. 

Remember : I'm the one walking you there. Look to your right and you'll see me there squeezing your arms reassuring you that everything is alright baby doll.

As I finished reading the letter I smiled. I felt right. I felt him right there next to me smiling and wiping my tears.

"It's time to go out there Jo" said Elsa.

I chose Chris to give me away to Robert. The Hemsworth's became a big part in my life.

As I was standing in front of the row of people I turned my head to the right as my dad said. I swear I saw him smiling at me. A single tear found its way on my cheek. As the song started I walked slowly and made my way to Robert. Ohhh that smile of his. He was smiling from ear to ear. I loved his smile.

As I reached him he took my hands in his and we said our vows.

"I don't know if I could get more lucky than I am today. I still remember the day I fell in love with you. You were alone on that bench and every part of me wanted just to wipe your tears away and make you smile. You found your way to my heart in a heartbeat. You are the most beautiful person inside and out. You are my better half and the woman I want to spend the rest of my days with. You are something else. I love you more with each second, minute, hour and day that passes by." I looked at the man in front of me as he was pouring his heart out and inhaled. It was my turn.

"Robert you were there when my world was shattered. You picked every piece of it and put it right back together. I remember how you wanted to have my dad's permission to be with me. I don't know if I can ever repay you for what you did to me over these months. I love you not because of your super powers, but because you are my hero in real life. You are my hero in all the ways possible. I love you because when you smile, you make me realize that all I need in this life is you. I love you with everything that means me. " a tear escaped Robert's eye's and I am pretty sure Elsa was drowning in her own tears by the time we finished saying our vows.

"I now declare you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride"

And he kissed me alright. Just like the first time. I felt my knees go weak and he noticed that pulling me closer to him whispering in my ear " Miss Downey. Shall we go?"

Everyone was clapping and whistling. The cast from the Avengers started shouting "Team Downey" as we made our way out of the church and into the limo.

"Hmmm my wife, what shall we do now?" asked a childish Robert.

"Well I've never done it in a limo before...."

He got my message in an instant and clothes started flying on the floor of the car. The limo driver started driving in circles for an hour and finally pulled in front of the restaurant.

It was a great reception. We had our first dance on "All of me" by John Legend and then we did a dance on "Back in Black" where Tom, Elsa, Chris H, Chris E., Mark and Scarlet joined in. It was bassicaly a mosh pit. We shared some great hours with the people that were the most important ones in our life and then we made our way to the airport for our honeymoon.

Robert being the great husband, packed my bags along with his so they were all at the airport already.We took off on a EuroTrip that was about to last a month.

My life changed for the better everything was perfect. Until one morning I started to puke.

I went to the pharmacy and bought 5 pregnancy tests and every test turned positive. We were about to become parents and life couldn't be happier.
