Chapter 20 [part1]

Those 4 months flew by so quickly! I didn't even realize that today was the day when Robert returned home and in only one week our wedding will take place. I was so overly excited, majorly by the fact that today was my birthday! I have never been so happy on becoming a year older.

As the morning rolled by, I had to go and pick Robert from the airport. I threw on a pair of black skinny jeans, my red and yellow Iron Man t-shirt and a pair of red Converse and I was out the door.

As I was jaming along with the radio I received a message. <<I landed. See you in front of the airport birthday girl! Love you!>> I couldn't wait to see him and hold him...and kiss him. I missed him like hell.

In these past 4 months we planned the wedding over the phone or Skype. It was hard not being able to see the church together or the restaurant in which the reception will be. We chose a beautiful ivory and purple theme. 

10 minutes later I parked in front of the airport and an overly excited Robert ran in my direction sweeping me off my feet and kissing every inch of my face.

"I missed you sooooo freaking much! Oh my God. You are here in my arms. I can't believe it!" 

"Robert! Babe?!? I missed you too!!!!! but we are still in a public place and you're giving me a face bath. "

"I can do whatever I want to now! In a week I'll call you my wife. So i can kiss your entire face and lick it if  I want to. I'm a Downey and I can do that to my woman!" he huffed like a little boy.

Minutes later we got in the car and started driving home. He just stared at me the entire road back, not much being said.

"Robert, you are staring at me!"

"I haven't seen your face in real life for 4 months! You look even more beautiful now. Not that you weren't always the most beautiful thing on the planet. Just saying! You have another glow added to all that" he was now holding my hand bringing it to his mouth and planting a sweet kiss on it.

I just blushed and kept my eyes on the road. As we reached the house we took all of his baggage's inside and sat on the comfy couch. He came close to me and made me sit on his lap. My head was laid on his shoulder and he was stroking my hair gently.

"Mhhhmmm. I missed doing this." he said while kissing the top of my head.

"I missed being like this too Rob." 

" Well today is a special day so there is no time for sitting around and doing nothing! First of all, birthday girl we'll start with a shower. I need to take one and you are coming in with me. After that we'll see what we'll do." he got up and carried me all the way to the bathroom.This shower wasn't like all the other ones we took together. There was a lot of lust and passion that was bottled up and exploded in the second we touched lips under the hot water. This was Heaven like. 

Hours later we decided to just get dressed and grab a bite to eat in town. I didn't want anything fancy going on so we just decided to take a long walk in Central Park.

"The stars today are amazing! Look at that one and how bright it shines." I was amazed by how clear the night sky was and how bright the stars were.

"Hmmm funny you pointed at that one, because I have a surprise for you, and my first gift." He handed me a large envelope. 

I opened it and revealed a star certificate. It said:

" A celestial body  in the sky above has been named in honor of , Jo Downey. It's officially located in the Constellation Orion  "

Tears formed and as I looked up at the star Robert bought me I smiled. On our very first date I showed Robert the star I was always looking at whenever I wanted to feel close to my dad. He bought the one next to it.

" I know how much your dad meant to you Jo. I wanted you to be close to him for all eternity, even if it's only in the shapes of stars. I love you Jo! Happy 24th anniversary."

"You don't even know how much this means to me Robert. Thank you so much. I love you with every piece of me." I kissed him deeply. He did something that no one would have done for me. I know it. In a world full of selfish people he was the only one that cared enough for me to do that.

As we arrived home I saw something weird moving behind the curtains. We got out of the car and I immediately grabbed the baseball bat I had in the trunk. An amused Robert looked at me while I was making my to the door.

"Robert you'd better come and kick that burglar in the nuts! We are being robbed."

He came and opened the door slowly. He then went for the light switch and just as I was about to swing my bat at whoever was  in the house, he grabbed it just as everybody screamed "SURPRISE!"

He invited everyone that I love and admired throughout my teenage years.  The Hemsworth's were here, Tom Hiddleston, my mom, my grandmother, my best friend from back home, even my boss from my old news paper. As I looked to the right I saw Mark Ruffalo and Scarlet Johansson. Chris Evans was there too and a bunch of other friends we made.

"I.. I think I'm lost for words for the first time in years. Being a journalist I always had my words with me. This time I'm speechless. Thank you for being here for me. I thank Robert for taking the time and doing this.Thank you for bringing here the two most important persons in my life my mom and grandmother. I love you honey." Robert leaned down and kissed me and a sea of "aww's" erupted in the room.

After a while of catching up with my mom and grandmother, Tom made his way to me.

"Hy Jo! I'm Tom..." just as he was about to say his whole name my grandmother cut in.

"Hiddleston. Yes Loki! I know you" Me and Tom looked at one another and started laughing.

"Nice meeting you Tom!" i said while shaking his hand "My grandmother saw all the Marvel movies. She almost embarrassed me when she met Robert."

"No worries. She seems delightful."

"Ohh you don't know half of it. And speaking of Robert. Did you see him?"

"He's over at the bar talking with Chris and Elsa the two worst spies in the history of spies."

'Yeah I know. I took Elsa out shopping for my wedding dress and she sent the picture to Chris. Robert saw it. I was so mad at her." I said smiling and remembering that day.

"Ahh well you know them" he said while taking me to Robert.

"There you are my lady. Last stop your childish 49 years old husband." I just laughed while Robert took me in his arms.

"Brit charm go away."said Robert playfully

Tom just laughed and continued chatting up with Chris H.

The party was a blast. Everyone had a lot of fun. We danced all night on different goofy songs. At one point I started dancing like a mad chicken being followed by Robert, Tom, Elsa and Chris. We collapsed on the floor laughing like idiots.

My 24th birthday was the best I've had in my life and Robert made it possible.
