"I don't suppose he'll just, um, go away?" Jack asked hopefully.

"That's not what he usually does," Kelsey said, lifting her leg over Jack's body so she could reach her phone. "But maybe I can get him to leave without actually answering the door."

"How does he even know you're home?"

Kelsey sighed. "Earlier, after I came up here, but before you did, he texted me, just asking what I was doing, and like an absolute fool I texted back, saying I was going to have a quiet evening at home."

She sat on the edge of the bed with her phone and began typing. Jack sat next to her so he could see the screen.

"I'm already in bed" she sent.

"What? It's only 8:30!"

"I was tired"

"Come down and let me in. I brought you some coke."

Kelsey sucked her lips in as she and Jack read the text.

"It's okay," Jack said, correctly assessing her silence. "You're a grown-up, you can do whatever you want."

"I'm really really tired, ok? I just want to sleep"

"Let me in. We can have a little party."

When Kelsey didn't answer for a minute, her phone dinged with another text.

"What are you wearing? You're not with the brainless swimmer, are you?"

"Oh my god," Kelsey murmured. "I'm so sorry," she said to Jack. Then her words from when she'd last seen Don came back to her, and she quickly sent off a text. Jack read it and he again shook his head, giving her a little grin.

"I can let you in, if you really want, but you should know I'm wearing my comfy shirt and my old lady undies, because it's still not a good time of the month..." Kelsey smiled as she hit send. That should do it.

"Oh no. Why didn't you say so? Doesn't sound like much fun. I guess you should call the tiresome coach person after all. He can hold your hand haha. I'll call you in a few days." This text came back almost immediately.

Kelsey took the precaution of turning her phone off before she set it on the table again, and turned to face Jack. She put her arms around him and pulled them so they were lying down on the bed, scooting in close to him once more.

"So, where were we?" she asked. "Unless that little exchange with my ex has put you off me? Which I wouldn't blame you for one little bit?" She sighed.

Jack laughed, an easy sound in the near darkness of her cool room. "You don't know guys very well if you're even thinking of asking that," he said, leaning in to kiss her.

On one level Jack was hyper aware of every thought he had. He could hear himself thinking, his own voice very loud in his head, as he felt her skin under his hands, as he kissed her mouth, as he smelled her hair and listened to her breathing. On another level, though, it was like his brain was shut down, like he became a sensory being, a creature driven by sensations, by need, as his blood redirected to his groin, and he became hard as a rock, with only the desire to possess this creature, this beautiful woman in his arms.

Her shirt came off, and he could finally see her, sitting astride him, pert breasts just there, for him to touch, to taste, to fill his hands with. She liked when he palmed them, he could tell by how she tipped her head back and closed her eyes; she also liked when he put his mouth on them and sucked on them, he could tell by the noises she made, by how she grabbed his head and held it close to her body.
