The phone rang and Mike played the recording.
"Hello, hello? Hey you're doing great! Most people don't last this long. I mean, you know, they usually move on to other things by now. I'm not implying that they died. Th-th-that's not what I meant."
Mike rolled his eyes. Jeremy clutched onto Mike.
"Uh, anyway I better not take up too much of your time. Things start getting real tonight. Uh...Hey, listen, I had an idea. If you happen to get caught and want to avoid getting stuffed into a Freddy suit, uhhh, try playing dead! You know, go limp. Then there's a chance that, uh, maybe they'll think that you're an empty costume instead."
Mike thought that that was a good idea and was going to try it, but the next part made him rethink his decision.
"Then again if they think you're an empty costume, they might try to...stuff a metal endoskeleton into you. I wonder how that would work. Yeah, never mind, scratch that. It's best just not to get caught."
Jeremy gasped. He knew that the animatronics were violent, but he didn't think they were that violent! Mike had to remind himself that the souls of the kids didn't want to kill him.
"Um...Ok, I'll leave you to it. See you on the flip side!"
The phone hung up and they sat in silence.
"The cameras, Jeremy" Mike said.
"Oh, right." Jeremy said, pulling up the cameras. He started flipping through and saw that Bonnie was gone.
"M-Mike." Jeremy stuttered, tapping Mike's shoulder.
Mike couldn't stop himself from grinning. He had been through the same thing twice and he knew it wasn't much of a big deal and that Bonnie was backstage.
"It's OK, Jeremy. He's probably backstage. Check that camera."
Jeremy flipped to the backstage camera, and sure enough, Bonnie was standing there looking straight at the camera.
"It's fine. See? He's just staring into our SOULS!!!!" Mike said, shaking his hand at the last word.
Jeremy forced a little laugh. He knew that Mike was trying to cheer him up.
"Ok, you two lovebirds, why don't you try to save us without doing anything like that. It makes me sick." Vincent said, rolling his eyes in disgust.
Mike and Jeremy span around. They had forgotten about Vincent sitting behind them.
Vincent grinned again. "Yea. It's me. I've been sitting here this whole time, looking at you two. Ugh." Vincent rolled his eyes again.
Mike groaned. "You can at least help us by watching the doors in case something comes here."
Vincent nodded and slowly stood up. He went towards the left door and leaned against the frame.
Jeremy turned back towards the camera monitor. He flipped through the cameras, but the animatronics were in the same place.
"This is going to be a long night." Mike muttered, turning away from Vincent.
"I guess." Jeremy whispered to Mike, glancing at Vincent.
Jeremy continued looking through the cameras and Mike was looking out of the left door and Vincent was looking out the right door.
Then, Mike and Vincent heard Jeremy yelp.
Mike rushed towards Jeremy. "What? What happened?"
"I-I saw s-something. I-It's gone now but..." Jeremy drifted off.
"What did you see?" Mike asked.
"Freddy." Jeremy replied in a small voice.
"What?" Mike asked. "Freddy isn't here, and if he moves the screen will go black."
"I'm sure it wasn't actually Freddy. Just keep watching." Vincent replied sternly, looking back out the right door.
"Shut up, Vincent." Mike snapped.
"'Kay." He replied calmly.
"So, what did Freddy look like?" Mike asked Jeremy, looking back at him.
"His eyes." Jeremy said. "They were like human eyes. All red around the outside." He shivered as he remembered the image.
"It's OK, Jeremy. Probably just a camera glitch or a hallucination." Mike hugged Jeremy.
Jeremy nodded and looked back through the cameras. Mike went back towards the left door and they all resumed their positions.
*If any of you were confused, the image was a hallucination that you can find at some point in the game. It wasn't actually Freddy. This is not a spoiler.*
