Vincent gaped at Stephanie. "What? Why?" he asked.
Stephanie looked annoyed. "Look, I told you that I'll tell you later. For now we have to stay alive."
Vincent grumbled as he opened the left door. He flipped open the camera to locate the other animatronics. Freddy was in the dining room, Bonnie was in the left hall corner, and Chica was in the right hall. He motioned to Stephanie that Bonnie was in the left hall corner and she stood by the door.
They stayed silent and Vincent kept wondering what he had missed in the span of a day. Jeremy was crying because Mike was destined to die for some reason, Mike's head was bleeding, and Stephanie was human again.
He heard Stephanie gasp and then the door closed. He knew that Bonnie was there, so he checked the security cameras for the other animatronics. Freddy was next to the stage and Chica had gone further down the hallway. Foxy has his hook sticking out through the curtains.
He sighed and closed the monitor. The night was very boring for him and he wasn't even going to be paid for this. He looked at the battery and the clock. It was 2 am and they had 75%. He put his head on the desk.
Stephanie looked over. "What are you doing!? You have to look at the cameras!" she screeched.
"Ugh." He complained. "It's sooooo boring."
She rolled her eyes. "Ugh. It's not like YOU have anything bothering you. Give us a break."
Vincent was going to argue that he had to worry about Scott, but stayed silent. Instead, he played along with Stephanie and flipped open the camera monitor. Bonnie was on stage, Foxy was leaning out of Pirate's Cove, and Freddy was in the dining room, approaching the right hall. He couldn't find Chica and didn't hear her in the kitchen, so he motioned Stephanie towards the right door. He got up and opened the left door as she turned on the light. She yelped and closed the door. Before the light shut off, Vincent could see Chica peering into the office through the window.
"It's only Chica. Stop overreacting." Vincent said.
Stephanie angrily turned around. "You know. I still want to kill you and I think you should be dead right now." He swore that he saw her eyes glow red as they had when she was a ghost. Her voice started rising. "I could just throw you out in the halls and close the doors and we'll all be safe." She thought for a moment. "The only reason why I'm keeping you alive is because of Scott."
Vincent decided that Stephanie shouldn't find out that Scott was dead, so he stayed silent.
Vincent held up his hands in surrender. "I guess it's because you never had to worry about being killed by them before."
Stephanie glared at him, but instead of yelling at him, she turned away from him. "You'd understand." She muttered.
Vincent heard her, but didn't say anything. He really didn't need to get in a fight with her and test just how far he could push her until she snapped. Instead, he flipped open the security monitor and looked for the other animatronics. Bonnie was in the dining room, Chica was in the bathroom, and Freddy was in the right hallway. When he switched to the left hallway, he saw Foxy run down the hall. He jumped out of his chair and closed the left door. He soon heard banging on the door. He watched as their power when down to 60%.
"Great." he muttered.
Stephanie checked the lights in the right hall, and as Chica was not there, opened the door. Then, she slid back on the floor. Vincent waited for a few moments, then opened the left door and sat back on the bench.
Vincent looked back at the two figures at the back of the room. Jeremy looked like he was having a nightmare and Vincent didn't like that look on him. He was such an innocent person and he didn't deserved to be tortured. Jeremy was tightly holding on to Mike as if he was already losing him. It reminded him of the way he gripped on to Scott as the life was fading out of him.
It pained him to watch the two, so he turned back around. He looked at Stephanie, who was staring directly at him. He nearly jumped, but managed to keep his composure.
"What?" he asked, trying not to show his fear.
"I know what you were thinking about."
Vincent laughed. "No you don't."
"Vincent."
The urgency in her voice made him stop.
"Don't worry about Scott. We'll protect him. You won't have to lose him too."
He felt crushed by the promise that was already broken and he suddenly felt the urge to punch Mike for making so many people feel bad. Instead, he flipped open the security camera monitor and checked the animatronics. Bonnie and Chica were still in the same rooms, Foxy was back in Pirate's Cove, and Freddy was about midway down the hall.
Vincent sighed as he closed the security camera monitor. He knew that they would be safe for at least another 5 minutes and he could relax. Instead of actually relaxing, he started thinking about what Stephanie had promised him. Even if Scott was still alive, Stephanie wouldn't be able to protect him because she wasn't a ghost anymore.
He turned and looked at her. She didn't look as pale as she did before, but she still looked like she needed to sleep for a day. He was still unsure of how she turned into a human, but she did promise to tell him later. He then started wondering if there was a chance of Scott turning back into a human.
