Chapter XVIII

• Yeona's POV •

Everything was so different. Darkness had taken over the place. Fog covered everything in the distance as all I could see was grey.

Dark clouds took over the sky, making the sun hide away. I took small and careful steps forwards and finally got off the ship I've been trying to escape for about a week now.

Jungkook was right beside me, observing the place by looking around back and forth.

I squinted my eyes to see more into the distance and finally spotted a gate.

The gate that leads to the kingdom of Atharid.

The kingdom that once belonged to me.

Suddenly a hand made its way up to my mouth and the over to my stomach, holding me back. I didn't fight back, knowing exactly who the hands belonged to.

"There's a guard standing there. We'll have to sneak into the kingdom somehow." He whispered and I nodded.

But as soon as he removed his hand from my mouth we heard a yell, very close to us.

"Trespassers!" The knight who was guarding the gate yelled as he pointed his finger and ran over to us, his hand gripping the handle of his sword.

And that was our cue to start running and escaping the guard who was running after us.

• 3rd Person POV •

The both of them started running as fast as their legs possibly could. Jungkook spotted a doorway and took a hold of Yeona's hand, quickly running inside the door leading to one of the many hallways of the castle.

Yeona and Jungkook looked around, trying to find another exit to get the guard off of their tracks.

Both, at the same time, found a door on the opposite sides. Without letting go of each other's hands, both ran to the direction of the door they found, only to have themselves still standing at the same place.

"We should go that way!" Yeona whisper-yelled and pointed to the left.

"No! That will trap us even more! We should go to the right!" He argued.

"How would you know? You haven't been here for the last four years!"

He rolled his eyes and pulled on Yeona's hand, making her body crash into his and her glare up at him as he just smirked.

"Neither have you, so you can shut up and trust me." He snapped and walked to the door, only to find out that it was a small hallway closet, where maids kept their brooms and cleaning supplies.

"Told you." She laughed and earned a glare from him.

They soon heard footsteps coming closer and closer, making both of them speed up and struggle to get into the closet.

He closed the closet door and left a small space to peek into while both of their bodies had absolutely no space to separate the two.
