A sigh left her lips as she looked in the mirror, her reflection looking back at her. The white gown was tightened around her body, making it hard to even breathe.

The maids rushed around the room, going back and forth making sure to make the bride as stunning as possible. Some were arguing over how to style her hair as others were arguing over which type of flowers Prince Taehyung would like the best.

But she stayed silent. Every single word that was heard crystal clear was just a small whisper now. She was emotionless as this day would either make or break her future.

She wanted back her dominance, her kingdom and her old life but deep inside she knew she wanted something completely different.

She wanted to be back on her ship. To hear the waves of the ocean, wanted to be free from all responsibilities. Wasn't that the reason she left her kingdom in the first place?

Yeona loved her freedom that she never got as she was trapped in the castle all day, but once she got what she wanted she never wanted to turn back.

But now here she was trapped once again, but this time there was no escaping. Once the title and the crown was hers, it could never be taken away.

The maids finally finished their work but there was still an hour or two before the marriage ceremony. She sat on the seat in her room, looking down at herself, but her gaze soon snapped towards the man who was standing by the window while having his arms crossed over his chest.

"Tsk Tsk Tsk." He smirked at her, waking into the room arrogantly.

"What a beautiful bride, to bad she isn't dressed like that for me,

Yet." He smiled, showing off his teeth.

"How did you get in here?" Yeona asked while standing up to face him.

Jungkook chuckled and failed to keep his gaze on her face as his eyes studied her body from head to toe "The guards are too gullible." He responded finally tearing off his gaze from her body and back onto her eyes.

She sighed "There's no point of you being here. Just go, it's too late now." She huffed out and walked over to the door. Just as her hand was on the door knob, her arm was yanked back by Jungkook, making her stumble backwards.

"Never too late for love, is it?" He smirked at her.

"This isn't love, Jungkook." She rolled her eyes at him.

His eyebrows furrowed as he frowned "What do you mean? Do you think I lied when I confessed to you that day? Do you really think I went on my knees, begging you to be mine for no reason?" His voice broke.

"I-I just can't fall in love..." she whispered, looking deeply into his eyes as guilt started killing her alive.

"Why not?" He asked, giving the girl a confused look.

"Because everything that falls, breaks." The corners of her eyes started welling up with tears, seeing his expression was like a thousand stabs to the heart. She hated it. She hated the fact that she was the reason behind his pain,

once again.

Silence washed over them after her words. The atmosphere changed to tense as she waited for him to say something, anything. And he did.

"Then... I guess I've been broken ever since the day I met you." He whispered, slowly letting go of her arm and walking towards the door.

"I-I'm sorry." She whispered, a small tear rolling down her cheek, watching how he was leaving her again. Leaving her in the same darkness that he once saved her from.

He chuckled and looked back at her, his hand already placed on the door knob "You didn't even consider me catching you as an option. You still think I'm this insane selfish monster who only thinks about himself. But think about this. Why would I leave all this treasure and power behind? Because I loved you ever since the first day. I gave up everything to find you, but you still think the same. And that hurts the most. I hope you find happiness with Taehyung at least. Maybe he has something I never did. Maybe he has something that will make you reconsider falling in love. Maybe you will understand that falling is not so bad, as long as you have someone to catch you before you fall too hard. But unfortunately I had no one."

Unconsciously a few tears strolled down from his eyes to his cheeks. This can't be happening again. He thought.

But it was.

He turned the door knob, stealing one last glance at the bride and slamming the door shut.

Immediately she broke down sobbing. She didn't want this. She didn't want any of this.

Jungkook left the room as he aggressively wiped away the tears with his sleeve. He sneaked out of the castle, and went to the little house he and his mother were staying at for the time being.

His mother was sitting in the kitchen, cutting some vegetables when Jungkook entered.

"Did you see Yeona, dear?" She asked but not received an answer back. Jungkook angrily walked into his room and shut the door, not sparing a single glance at his mother.

Jisu (Jungkook's mother in case you forgot) stood up and knocked on her sons door, but it was already unlocked.

She walked in and saw as Jungkook sat on his bed, tears flowing uncontrollably from his eyes.

She sat down next to him and patted his back "She didn't come with you, did she?" She frowned at him and he looked up at her. His eyes were blood red which made Jisu sigh.

"I don't want to force her to come with me, mother. But I can't let her go. I need her." He spoke through his sobs as his voice cracked and broke in between his sentences.

"Listen dear, Yeona is afraid. You left her once-" She spoke but was cut off by Jungkooks glare.

"I left her because I had to and you know that!" He yelled which made his mother startle but soon calm down.

"I know, I know. But she is afraid that you'll do it again. You have to prove her wrong."

"How? She doesn't want to see me anymore. She doesn't love me."

She chuckled at him "Of course she does. She was so worried about you being in the castle in the dungeons and even threatened your brother to let you go." She smiled and continued "You don't give up on love, Jungkook. You sacrifice a lot of things in this cruel world but never let go of your loved one when it's clear that they love you back."

Jungkook hugged her before standing up and taking a hold of the sword that was placed on his desk, gripping on it tightly.

"Then... im not leaving until I get what i came for."
