Bodies lay in rooms, whatever had done this, must have passed already. We reach an iron door smeared with blood, Kate tested it, locked. She picked up a keycard and swiped it over a purple panel, locks sound in a rhythm of clicks, then opened slightly. "Stay." She said, swiveling the door open. It groaned as she closed it, giving me no time for a rebut. I waited, fidgeting. I waited and waited, longer and longer. It felt like an hour, then two.

A loud growl came from down the hall, whatever it was, it wasn't happy. It turns the corner, it's fur drenched in red, it stared dead at me.

I froze, I couldn't move. A click sounded behind me, the door, I flinched. Looking through the plexiglass, was Kate, she didn't open the door.

I trembled as the creature neared, faster and faster, my heart pounded- I willed for it to stop, afraid it might smell my fear- Leave me alone- I thought, holding my hands up to shield myself.

The creature stopped, it's white eyes staring through me. It's stained teeth glowing as it snarled a little. It seemed to question who was more dominant. I squint, blinked, then rubbed my head. The werewolf-like beast mimicked me, lifting it's arm to it's head.

Kate finally opened the door and slowly moved out, pulling bags with her. A man and a young woman follow. The man had many grey hairs, and what wasn't grey was white. His eyes were a dark brown, he had crooked rotten teeth stained yellow, and a large scar was above his upper lip. The woman was average looking with shoulder length brown hair with the ends dyed blue, her eyes were brown flecked with gold, her teeth were straight and mostly white. She wore a blue lab coat and a tag with the label, "Trainee." Poor girl.

The creature stepped closer again, looking at the man. It began to pace, debating- on what?- I couldn't tell. "Grey. Is that subject Z12-40?" Kate turned to him, whispering.

"Yes I believe, but it looks different now." He tilted his head a little.

"How different?"

"It's eyes are white. It didn't have fangs like that. It wasn't that big..."

"I...uh." The trainee shivers. The creature growls and she jumps.

"Calm down." Kate lifted her gun. The creature charged for her, yelling, like a human. It was scared. I push her gun to the next room as she shoots, hitting a dead undead person in the nose. I then tackle the creature.

"Control yourself!" I yell, shaking. It looks at me. The trainee then rushes with a needle and injects some sort of purple liquid. The creature let out a yelp, throwing me to the wall. It curls up on the wall beside me. Kate rushes over to me, sliding me away from the creature.

It gets up staring at her, managing to say one word, "K...Kate." Her eyes go wide and she jumps back.

"It just talked to me, well not talked, spoke... My name."
