Jack replied at her with a weak smile his eyes filled with hope once more. Winter then pulled Jack to his feet smiling as she did,the unusual warmth of her ice eyes were back. The guardians too were smiling and laughing pleasantly at them. Meanwhile in the background Pitch was still recovering from the unusual events that just happened his cold eyes extremely full of disbelief." No, Nightmares attack?". He shouted in rage. Jack and Winters eyes lit with fear as the Nightmares surrounded the guardians and Sumner. Then without hesitation Winter immediately let loose another ice shard that knocked Pitch down to the cold,hard floor. A small yelp left him as he made impact. Winter then faced Jack with a slight proud grin on her face but time was running out with the guardians weakened due to the children not believing Jack and Winter were the only ones who could save them or so they thought but what was about to happen next would indeed change everything.
Summer clapped with a cheerful smile on her face as Winters shard struck Pitch. Suddenly Jack fell to the ground his pale hand clenched the front of hoodie tightly as his face screwed up in a painful expression. Winters reaction was immediate as she dashed worryingly over to him her icy blue eyes overwhelmed with fear. As she knelt down beside him she noticed instantly that he seemed incredibly weak. "Jack!, Jack!, Jack get up, get up please!". She exclaimed, her voice shaky and full of terror. Then out of nowhere a dark shard rushed violently past Winter fortunately it missed. Winter turned round to see where the shard had come from it was Pitch!. He stood carelessly still in his shadowy surroundings once more with that sadistic smile on his face. Winter jumped up to her feet standing protectively over Jack as he lay there motionless and weak. "Its over Winter, but it doesn't have to end like this...this is your chance to join me you've proven yourself worthy. All you have to do is say yes and together we'll rule the world". Winter just glared at him intently never removing her focus never leaving as she didn't reply. "What a shame to waste such a young, determined and beautiful girl...but never mind now you all share the same fate. Summer hid herself once more behind Tooth and the others. The atmosphere turned tense and fragile but ended when Pitch signalled the Nightmares and a tremendous roar of clashing hooves struck the earth.
"No !". Winter raged then a pure white glow exploded from all around her the rest of the guardians including Jack and Pitch covered up their eyes from the blinding light, the Nightmares retreated as they bolted back into the darkness. Suddenly the light began to fade and the shadows of the lair crept back in meanwhile Winter lay delicately on the cold ground her pale white skin like snow her eyes gently shut with all their strength the guardians ran to her side before noticing that she and Jack were side by side as they lay together. Slowly a cold hand drifted smoothly down Winters face her eyes began to re-open as it did however to her surprise it was Jack smiling as he started to sit up. Winter carefully placed her hand over his also replying with a gentle smile. Pitch revealed himself from the darkness but this time only his eyes appeared before whispering the words under his breath. "Till next time...Guardians".
As the Guardians Jack and Winter along with Summer returned back to the Pole where they celebrated their victory over the darkness and putting Pitch back once and for-all. Winter stood gazing into the sky its striking blue colour was truly memorizing. Then delicate footsteps echoed behind her but she couldn't sense a threat. It was only Jack he smiled as he too looked peacefully at the sky. "Everything is perfect now". She whispered sweetly before turning to see Jack. Their hands slowly wrapped into each-others. "I love you Winter...". He said looking straight into her eyes, Winter paused for a moment but then let a small smile appeared on her face. "I love you too Jack...Forever".
