What If?: A Jax & Tara Story

Chapter 4

When Tara finally calms down, she steps out of Jax's arms and looks up at him. Jax asks with concern in his eyes, "What did my mother say to you?" Tara just shakes her head and walks over to Brooke to get their boys. Jax calls after her, "Tara!" Tara turns to him with Thomas in her arms. "I'll tell you at home." Jax looks towards Brooke who just shakes her head, which tells him this conversation isn't going to be good. He watches as Tara walks out with the boys. He feels someone stand next to him. Bobby asks, "Is everything alright?" Jax shakes his head and looks at him. "I don't know." He turns to the other guys and says, "I'll see you guys later." With that, he walks out the door.

When Tara walks into the house with Abel and Thomas, tears start pouring down her face again. She quickly wipes them away though when she hears a motorcycle pull into the driveway. Jax walks into the house and walks over to Tara. "Let's put the kids down for a nap and then you and I can talk." Tara slowly nods her head and goes to Thomas' room, while Jax picks Abel up and goes to put him in his room.

Once the boys are finally asleep, Jax and Tara go to their room. Jax sits on the bed and looks up at Tara, who looks like she doesn't know what to do or say. He slowly takes ahold of her hand and brings her to sit next to him. Jax asks, "What did Gemma say to you?" Tara looks down and clears her throat. "She brought up your little thing with Colette. I wasn't going to let it get to me but she just kept going on and on until I finally cracked." Jax lifts her chin to look at him. Tara didn't even know she was crying until Jax started wiping her tears away. Jax hugs her and says, "I'm so sorry, babe. Nothing like that will ever happen again. I promise." Tara pulls away and looks at him. "Don't." Jax asks, confused, "What are you talking about?" Tara sighs. "Don't make promises you can't keep or don't intend on keeping." Jax drops his hand and looks down. "Ok." Jax takes Tara's hand in his and uses his other hand to touch her face. He slowly brings his lips to her's and kisses her. Tara smiles into the kiss which leads Jax to kiss her even harder. Tara pulls his body closer to her's and takes off his kutte. Jax pulls away and smiles at her. "You ok?" Tara nods her head. "Just love me." And with that one statement, Jax makes Tara forget about all the pain she's been through. At least for one night.
