Logan had cut a gash on Kathy's arm, she was bleeding. But it was a weird color.
"Kathy! You're hurt!" I felt like I was just making comments, no real connection at all with this battle, I was just one of the frightened bystanders. I tried to get closer. But I got another surprise.
Her wound was....it was.....
Andie's POV
Closing up?
How was that possible? Nothing seemed to make sense at all today. So right before my eyes, the gash on her shoulder was closing up at an alarming rate, and her blood was fading away to nonexistence; not only that, her blood was a golden color, I think there's a term for that. And her flesh was stretching to accommodate the new mass.
She looked like she was getting a bit smaller. I didn't know how to react. Looks to me that everyone else in the hall was thinking the same thing too.
In no time she had healed. No scars left on her shoulder, Logan didn't looked surprised, in fact, he seemed to know exactly what was going on. Kathy's eyes were spinning, her eye color turning gold then suddenly melting back into her bright turquoise eyes.
I gasped, all the facts finally connected in my overcrowded brain:
1) Golden blood; Ichor
2) Sharp teeth with two at ends jutting out
3) Regenerating skin
4) Unnatural speed and agility
5) Claw marks all over Logan's skin
6) Strange eyes......Katherine Jenehiem is a vampire.
Akayla's POV
~Flashback~
"You know what?! I forgot why I took you from the orphanage in the first place!" My adopted mother yelled at me.
It was my 8th birthday, but my 'mom' was complaining about how all of my friends were jerks. She didn't even put a lot of effort at all to putting the party together, it was all just me and the pitiful pieces of cash my 'mom' called an allowance.
"I was thinking the exact same thing! And you know what?" I screamed. "I think you're a *****!!!"
That was all it took, everyone was was watching. I have never said anything even with the same letters as a bad word when talking to my 'mom.'
"AND I WONT TAKE IT!!! YOU ARE LEAVING THIS HOUSEHOLD FIRST THING TOMORROW!!!" She yelled at me, 'mom' then turned to my friends and growled at them.
They all whimpered and slowly walked out of the house; I would've laughed if I hadn't known that would be the last time I would see them.
Then Ms. Redwinds turned to me with fire in her eyes. "I'm beginning to see why so many people rejected you in the end."
That comment kind of stung, and it stayed with me as I headed up to my closet of a room to pack what little I had. Who knew how bad my next parents would treat me? Every single time.....I think there are no people who are meaner than my custodians; but fate somehow finds more. Sad really, how many bad people populate the earth.
I sighed as I ravaged my closet. I found something inside, it was a—
~Flashback Interrupted~
I was jolted from the memory by a cold, freezing gust of wind hitting my neck.
Someone had come into the room.
Footsteps thudded ominously against the floor. A screeching sound followed it, like metal on stone. My blindfold was ripped off, I couldn't scream, I couldn't wail; all I could do was wait as the figure held a long broadsword over his head. All he had to do was relax his arms and the sword would split me in half.
The sword came down.
