Tristin blinked his eyes a few times, regaining his composure. He looked around and saw that he was in a hospital room. He saw heard nurses conversing with eachother outside of the door. He looked down as he laid in bed. He saw that he was wearing an oxygen mask and an IV. He noticed his stomach was bandaged and his back was as well. He tried to open his mouth to yawn when he got a sudden pain in his mouth and jaw. He touched his mouth and realized his mouth had been wired.
"My jaw is broken..." he thought to himself.
He clenched his fist together and began crying. He thought of Jared and Luisa.
"I felt them...I could hear them...I wish I could've saw them. God, please keep them alive for me. Please..." he thought as teas rolled down his face.
"Hey" a voice said from next to him. "Don't cry. Please?"
Tristin looked next to him and noticed someone was laying next to him in another bed.
"Who're you?" Tristin asked in a mumbling manner, due to his wired jaw.
A nurse walked in with a male doctor.
"Oh, you two are awake. It's time you both take your medication." said the doctor.
"I don't need it." said the girl.
"Karui, don't be so stubborn." said the doctor.
"I told you that I will heal myself, you need to let me out of this stupid hospital."
"Just because you have Medical abilities, Karui, doesn't mean you can heal yourself. You know it takes incredible practice to heal your own body. Though, you can heal others with ease." said the nurse.
"Then I will keep trying! Leave me alone." Karui said crossing her arms.
"Tristin. Because your jaw is wired, and it wouldn't be safe to take anything solid by mouth yet because of your tongue, we're going to give you your medicine through a needle." said the doctor.
The doctor cleaned Tristin's forearm with an alcohol pad and pulled out a syringe with a thick needle attached. Tristin said a slew of profanities through the wire as the doctor stuck the needle into his forearm. The nurse had set out Karui's pills on the table next to her and told her to take them if she wans to actually feel better as they walked out.
"I hate doctors. They're so full of shit" Said Karui. "They think they know everything."
"Hey. I heard your name is Karui. What happened to you, Karui?" Tristin asked.
He noticed she had gauze on her stomach and gauze on her throat. Her face was bruised slightly.
"Had a match with a boy and his tiger. These are the results." she said.
Tristin admired Karui. Especially her hair, even though it was wildly messy.
"I heard them say you can heal others, but not yourself?" Tristin asked.
Karui scoffed.
"Yeah. I'm a Water Type belonging to the Medical Class. It's easy for me to heal others with abilities. But with further practice, I could heal myself too."
"I've never heard of the Medical Class. You mind telling me more?" Tristin asked.
"There's very few medical warriors. My mother is one. As a matter of fact, she was the best in all of Japan. She gained the nickname, The Healing Blossom. She began teaching me when I was eight years old. I'm 20 now." Karui said.
"Was it hard to learn?" asked Tristin.
"It was. But my mother was phenomenal, so she was the best teacher before she retired. Now, she stays home all day taking care of my grandmother who's been sick." Karui continued.
"Tell me. How does water heal others?" Tristin asked.
"Us medical warriors use a medicated water. It's light green, and infused with healing supplements that run through our bloodstream." said Karui.
Tristin thought of his parents. He thought of Jared and Luisa. He prayed that they would stay safe.
"So. Why were you crying? If you don't mind me asking." Said Karui.
"Because of my predicament. Look at me. I can barely even talk..." Tristin said looking away in embarrassment.
Suddenly a cold light green substance covered Tristin's mouth and jaw area.
"Hey, what are you doing?" He asked Karui.
"Making you feel better."
She controlled the water with one hand.
"It'll begin to sting soon. That's normal. Just try not to talk through this." Karui said.
Sure enough, the stinging began. Tristin squeezed his eyes close from the pain. Karui grabbed his hand and held it with hers.
"Relax. This is all for the better." She said softly.
Tristin held her a hand a little tighter and waited as Karui attempted to heal him.

*Imperial Battleground*

The sixth and seventh match had passed. And now it was time for the eighth.
"Time for match number eight! Looks like it's Ryo Lan Di vs Rashaad Abidi!" Rika announced.
"It's Kang's son." King Tskune said, with a serious look on his face.
"This is your moment, my son. You go out there and hold nothing back. Kill him." Kang said.
"As you wish father. Is the plan still in motion? Where is-"
"Don't say the name!" Kang interrupted. "Can't risk anyone hearing. But trust me, they'll be here shortly. When the time is right, we'll go full throttle with the mission. Until then, we play cool and pretend that we like Japan. Understood, Ryo?"
"Understood, father." Ryo said walking onto the machine that lowers him onto the battleground.
Rashaad was already waiting on Ryo.
"Are you prepared to die here?" Ryo asked Rashaad.
"Talk is cheap." Rashaad responded.
Rashaad looked into the crowd and noticed his wife who had a concerned look on her face.
"Don't worry, Naija. I'll end this guy. I'll get through this tournament. I'll win a lot of money. We'll move into a palace back in Arabia. Once you have our daughter, she'll never have to worry about a single thing. I promise." He thought to himself.
Jared noticed Kang and Kuan talking amongst eachother.
"Keep your eyes on them" Hanzo said. "Together, those two are nothing but trouble."
Jared watched closely as they conversed.
