~ Two years later ~

Leigh-Anne
Faint shades of blue, pink and orange painted the sky as the sun was setting, indicating yet another stressful but productive day was reaching its end. I stood in my office on the top floor, resting my forehead against the rather chilly floor-to-ceiling window as I soaked in the breathtaking view before my eyes.

Contentment coursed through my veins as I looked over the city that'd been my home since the day my mother brought me to the world. I'd been one hell of a real estate agent today. My boss, a former model and a luxury real estate agent, was more than pleased with me.

Today was one of those rare days where I actually loved my job. Everything had gone the way I wanted it to. I'd gotten so many things done. I sold a house to a couple who'd just gotten married and were expecting their first child. An apartment in Docklands, an inner-western suburb, was sold to a former soldier who came to Melbourne to start over.

Somehow, I even managed to sell the apartment everyone at the real estate agency Little Real Estate in the suburb Port Melbourne had been struggling to sell for years. For some reason, no one wanted to live there. Until today. And that was all because of me.

Too bad I don't have anyone ~special~ to talk about my successful day at work with, I thought sadly as a deep sigh slipped from my lips.

It was times like these when I wished things had turned out differently that night two years ago. If my ex and I had handled the situation differently, if I had let her explain instead of interrupting her and calling her names, we would probably still be together. Maybe we would be something even more than girlfriend and girlfriend.

Not in the mood for thinking about the woman I once could take a bullet for, I left my spot by the floor-to-ceiling window and walked over to my desk. A small smile crept upon my face as I thought of my friend Jade Thirlwall when I noticed how organized everything was.

Jade was the most organized human being I knew. In my best friend Perrie Edwards' own words, she was an OCD-freak. She organized movies, books and CDs in alphabetical order. And if someone happened to misplace her things, she'd freak out.

Back in the day, my ex purposely misplaced Jade's things. Like me, she was one hell of a prankster who absolutely loved to tease and mess with the people she loved the most. Jade was her favourite person to mess with.

One time, she placed all Jade's Harry Potter movies in the wrong order. She placed Goblet Of Fire first, Deathly Hallows Part 2 second, Half-Blood Prince third, Deathly Hallows Part 1 fourth, Prisoner Of Azkaban fifth, Chamber Of Secrets sixth, Philosopher's Stone seventh, and Order Of The Phoenix eighth.

The poor soul got so mad when she saw what my ex had done. She absolutely hated it when everything was a mess and when none of her things were organized. Disorganization was something that really got on Jade's nerves, so to say.

I switched my computer off and packed down a bunch of paper in my beige leather handbag. Exiting my office, I closed and locked the door. On my way out of the building, I wished my colleagues a good rest of the day.

Coming out in the warm summer air, I headed to my beloved car. What I needed now was a physically challenging workout at my favourite gym.

Genesis Fitness was unusually crowded for being late Wednesday afternoon. For twelve years, I'd worked out here and not once during those years had the gym ever been this crowded. I would have to ask Perrie, who worked as a personal trainer here, if I see her before I head home.
