Goodbyes and tears

Chapter 2

When we entered my house, Jet carried me into my room upstairs. He set me on my bed then went into my closet to get me some clothes. I felt empty and cold when he left my side. He came back out with a pair of sweat pants and a hoodie. "You can wear my shirt if you want. I hope you don't mind these clothes, I didn't exactly know what you would want to wear. You get your undergarments yourself. I'll be outside your door if you need me. When your done we'll wait for your parents to come home ok?" He said with an smile with a hint of concern.

"Ok" I looked down to the ground not knowing what else to say.

I felt him grip one of my shoulders and lift my chin so that I was having eye contact with him. "Hey if anything is wrong you know you can talk to me about it ok?"

I nodded my head. He leant down and placed a small kiss on my forehead. I felt instantly calm after that. After he left my room I began to change my clothes. I put on my undergarments and sweat pants. I decided to leave on Jets shirt and sweater, they made my feel safe. I'll just give him one of my jerseys to wear. I opened my door and saw Jet standing at the opposite side of my room. He glanced at my appearance and had a slight twinkle of pride in his eyes when he saw me wear his clothes...hmm...I wonder why is that? I shrugged off the matter for later.

I handed him my jersey while he gave me a thanks. We both headed downstairs into the living room to wait for my parents. It's gotten dark outside since we came in. There was an eerie quietness in the house that made a shiver go down my spine. Jet noticed this so he wrapped an arm around me. It was warm. I snuggled deeper beside him grasping his warmth.

My throat seemed to be very dry that it hurt to swallow. I got up from Jets arms and made my way into the kitchen. I got a glass and filled it with water. I chugged down the liquid in less than 30 seconds. My throat still burned, to much I couldn't handle it. I placed the glass down onto the counter and decided to get some fresh air. Jet was watching tv in the living room, he looked like he was enjoying himself so I went outside alone. The house was being guarded by some of our fighters keeping us safe, dads orders.

I stepped onto the porch and inhaled the fresh air. The burning in my throat never subsided though, somehow it got worse. I fell onto my knees clutching my throat. I felt as if it was being torn out. I suddenly smelt a small rabbit walking on our lawn. I felt my eyes shift colour, staring at it in hunger. I could hear it's pulse and blood being pumped through its veins. The smell of its blood made my fangs extend. I slowly stalked towards it. In one quick movement I grabbed it greedily. Exposing its neck I sunk my fangs drinking on its blood. Tasting the metallic liquid in my mouth, I sucked every last drop dry. "Rin, Rin where are you?!"

The sound of Jets voice snapped me back to my senses. "What were you doing out here, I thought tha-"

His sentence was cut short when I turned my head to face him. "Rin what happened, what did you d-"

He glanced down at bloody rabbit that lay dead near my feet. He looked from me to the rabbit. "Your half vampire.." He whispered

He started to walk over to me. I held up both my hands in his direction. "Get away from me Jet!!"

His eyes softened, "No it's ok Rin everything's gonna be ok"

"No stop please stay away from me, or else...or else..." Tears were spilling through my eyes pouring down my cheeks.

"Or else I'll end up hurting you or worse killing you..."

"Please Rin it's ok nothing will happen" he stepped closer to me, I took a step back.

My thirst for blood was getting stronger everytime he gets close. I was about to turn around and run when he yelled for me.

"Rin wait we can get through this together like always." He pleaded with tears in his eyes. "Stay with me please don't leave me..."

I slowly walked towards him, when I was in arms length of him I stretched out my hand and cupped his face. "I'm sorry Jet I have to leave for a while. In order for you and the others to be safe I have to leave and learn to control my thirst and powers. Always know that where ever I am, I'm always with you. I don't want to hurt you." I couldn't stop the tears from falling from my eyes. "I'm really sorry I don't want to leave either, but I have to in order to protect you. Please don't follow me." I went on the tip of my toes and placed a kiss on his lips. He looked shocked but soon covered it up with a look of love in his eyes.

"I love you Jet now and always."

He looked at me with tears pouring down his face.

"I love you too Rin."

After my final goodbyes to Jet I turned around and ran for the woods. I stopped at the boarder of them, took one last glance at Jet then bolted for the dark woods awaiting me.
