After You Left (Lucaya)

A/N: time jump to a week and a half later.

Lucas's POV

When I woke up I went downstairs to make myself something to eat. Maya and I have been chatting every night. It's more then what we were doing from when I was home. I settled on a bowl of cereal. When I sat down I pulled my phone out of my pocket to text Maya a good morning text. She responded almost instantly, which made me smile. My mother and father walked in the kitchen right at this moment and I stopped smiling. She kinda gave me a look wondering why I stopped smiling.

"Don't stop smiling because I walked in the room." My mother said and I looked at my dad who was walking behind her and he winked at me. "You miss her don't you?" This caused me to look back up to her.

"I do. I miss her and Claire very much. I just wish you would accept them so it doesn't have to be like this anymore." My smile fell.

"Your father and I have been doing a lot of talking this past week and a half and I've come to terms that I've been really unreasonable towards Maya and Claire. More of Maya though. She makes you happy. I can hear the conversations you two have about your daughter at night. If this is what you truly want, I won't stand in the way anymore." She explained to me and I've never felt so happy in my life.

"Really?" I looked at her with a serious face. I honestly couldn't tell if this was reality or not.

"100 %. It's been brought to my attention how awful I've been to her and I do feel really bad over it. I shouldn't have done what I did. I hope you can find it somewhere in you to forgive me and as for Maya I know it'll take a lot of time." I got up and gave her a hug.

"Of course I can forgive you, you are my mother after all." I pulled away and smiled at her.

"We actually have a surprise for you, actually two." She said while looking at my dad. Which rose my suspicions. First she apologizes and now two surprises.

"Okay?" I crossed my arms against my chest and leaned back in the chair I was sitting in.

She walks over to me and hands me an envelope. "This contains both surprises. I hope this can make up for the damage I've caused." I opened the envelope and there was a plane ticket back to New York at 4pm. The other one had me confused, I looked up at her. "Mom.. is this?"

"It is, it was your grandmothers and your father and I both agreed you should have it. We know you've been missing them a lot and thought going home early to Maya and Claire is what you really need. I've been hearing you two every night telling each other how much you miss one another, not to mention that sweet little girl I've been hearing too." She smiled at me. I can't even believe they did this for me. To say I was excited was an understatement.

After I got done talking to them I went up to my room to start packing my things, but in the process of things I called Riley and put her on speaker while I was putting things in my suitcase.

Riley: hello?
Lucas: hey Riley.
Riley: Lucas? This is a random call, what's up?
Lucas: are you doing anything tonight?
Riley: no, not that I know of, why?
Lucas: well, I want to surprise maya and Claire tonight by coming home earlier then expected but I need you guys to pick me up from the airport.
Riley: are you sure everything is good with your parents?
Lucas: I swear everything is perfect. We had a break through with my mom and she actually bought me the ticket back and something else which I'll show you guys tonight.
Riley: we can do that. You're gonna shock her into the next orbit.
Lucas: that's what I'm hoping for. I just can't be away from her any longer. Whatever you do, do not tell her anything. If she panics at all, just let her. I want to surprise her.
Riley: you know she hates surprises...
Lucas: and?
Riley: fine, point taken. We'll see you tonight.

After I got off the phone with her I got everything and packed up and ready to go, including what my mom gave me.

Maya's POV

It was rolling around 7pm and Claire or I have heard from Lucas and we were starting to get worried. We've both called and texted him and nothing. From when I talked to him last night things seemed to be going pretty well with his mom, I don't understand why he isn't answering. I look at my daughter who's sitting in a chair by the window looking rather upset. I walked over there to try and help her feel better.

"Hey, baby, he's gonna call. He might just be busy right now, don't get upset yet." I smiled at her.

"Mom, what if he leaves us again?" She said in between sniffles and I can now see the wetness on her face that indicated she's been crying from missing her dad so much. She's like me more ways then I can even explain.

"He won't. Just give it some time. He's been calling the past week, he won't just stop now." I put a strong face on for my daughter because I was scared over that too.

We sat on the couch for the past hour and half watching tv. It was a school night, but I wasn't going to let her go to bed this upset. She cuddled into me and I just held on to her. Until I heard a knock at the door. That's strange, who would be here at this hour. I told Claire to stay here while I went to answer it. When I opened my door it revealed my huckleberry on the other side and I almost screamed and jumped into his arms.

"Oh my god, Lucas, you're home." I hugged him as tightly as I could. When we broke apart he tilted my chin up and kissed me with so much passion that I couldn't think straight. "Wow." I looked at him as we broke apart while resting our foreheads together. "Claire, come here!" When she got off the couch and saw it was her dad she came running full force to give Lucas a hug.

"Hey squirt. Sorry if I worried you guys, but I wanted to surprise you." He smiled at the both of us while I let him in.

"How did you get here? I thought your flight wasn't for another few days." I asked him as we sat on the couch.

"Thank my mother. She bought me an early ticket out because she knew I was missing you guys." I smiled at his mothers gesture, maybe things really were coming together and hope wasn't for suckers after all. "Riley and Farkle may of been in on the scheme helping me get here."

"Of course they were.. I had a feeling this would all work out in our favor. I owe your dad so much." I smiled at him and he smiled right back.

"Dad will you still be here in the morning when I wake up?" I watched Claire ask her father, which warmed my heart.

"Only if that's okay with your mom." They both looked at me with the cutest puppy faces.

"How could I say no to both of those faces." I smiled at them. " Claire say Goodnight to your father and get going to bed, you have school tomorrow."

"Goodnight dad." She gave him a big hug and ran off to her room.

Lucas and I continued to talk after she went to bed.

"I'm glad you're home. We both missed you." I smiled at him.

"I missed you guys too, very very much." He put him hand softly on my cheek. "I especially missed this." He leaned forward again and kissed me.

This wasn't like the kiss we just shared at the door, this was so much. He's never kissed me with so much love and force. He started traveling his kiss down to my neck and he knows that makes me go crazy. He pulled away for a minute biting his lip looking at me.

"Maya, what are we?" He asked while looking directly in my eyes.

"We're Lucas and Maya, like we've always been." After that he started kissing again.

He carried me into my room and everything was gone from there. We made love, it wasn't like any other time before, this time was completely different from any other time. It was like something in us completely took over. Any other time was really rough, but this time it was full of passion. After that we cuddled and talked until we both fell asleep.
