A/N: Thank you guys for the insanely quick feedback. I wanted to do something a little different then what's usually done. I think the next chapter I may go into Lucas's POV so we can see what's running through his head right now, does that sound good to you guys? :)

Maya's POV

I heard my daughter Claire call for me that there was a customer waiting to be helped. Except when I walked out from the back room I saw someone I never thought I'd see again. Lucas Friar. The guy I never stopped loving, but hated at the same time. Also the father of my child. Riley was walking in right when Lucas and I locked eyes to pick up Claire so she wasn't stuck here my entire shift.

"Thank god you're here Riles." I said all panicky to her as I started helping Claire get her school bag together to go to Rileys.

"Maya why are you so freaked out?" She asked me with concern in her voice.

"Lets say a blast from the past is sitting in the table in the corner behind you and I need to face this without Claire here." I whispered loud enough so she could hear me. I could tell she was looking out of the corner of her eye and she understood immediately.

"I told you one of these days he would be back and you would need to prepare for that day." I looked over at Claire as she said this.

"Yeah, Riles I know. I didn't expect to see him for the first time in twelve years at my job." I replied. I sent Claire off with Riley and that's when I walked over to Lucas.

"Hello, Lucas." I said with a half smile. "Surprised to see you here after all these years."

"Hi, Maya." He paused. "It's nice to see you after all these years."

"Is it?" I retorted. My response took him by surprise.

"Why wouldn't it be?" He asked.

"Well considering you randomly stopped talking to me after a month of moving, I figured you obviously didn't care." I said in annoyance.

"I think you have things confused Maya, you stopped talking to me." I've never seen him look so confused. "I see you have a kid. She looks just like you."

"Thank you." I replied in a shaky voice. I was trying to keep my anxiety in check. I sent him so many letters over the years to tell him about her. Why is he acting like he doesn't know this is his daughter we're talking about.

"So who's the dad? If you don't mind me asking." He asked. I turned ghost pale after that question. Is he kidding?

"Wow, that's low Lucas." I stared at him in disbelief of what he just asked me.

"Excuse me?" He said rather quickly in defense.

"You're acting like you didn't know that was YOUR daughter and it's a little annoying." I retorted. I was starting to fume with anger.

"My daughter?" He whispered to himself like he was trying to think things through. "How did this even happen and why didn't you tell me?" A flame of rage took over his eyes.

"Well it happened the night before you left and as for not telling you, I did, many of times. I wrote you letters. Mailed you pictures of her on her birthday every year and you didn't reply once." I could feel my emotions taking over. Anxiety was starting to fill my body with panic. "I stopped after awhile because it wasn't worth sending someone something that they weren't going to respond to. That was a year ago I stopped trying."

"You couldn't pick up a phone?" He had so much anger behind his face which only pissed me off even more. He was furious.

"Jesus Lucas, I did!" I yelled at him, I was tired of his shit already. "Every time I called you, it said it was disconnected. Which is why I wrote letters for years, you can't sit here and tell me you never got a single letter from me in eleven year Lucas!"

"Maya, if I got your letters do you seriously think I would be sitting here this confused?" He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. "Do you honestly think so low of me that I would wait twelve years to come back into my child's life?"

"Honestly Lucas, I don't know what I think of you anymore." I snapped back at him. He looked defeated in that single response.

"Hmm, wow. Did you even know me at all Maya? I'm still the same guy that you claimed to be in love with before I left twelve years ago." He said in a nasty tone.

"Don't you dare question my love for you. I loved you so much it literally was so painful for me when you left and going through my pregnancy alone. You lost the right to say something like that to me the moment you walked out of my life." I said coldly. I could feel a tear rolling down my cheek. It won't be long until I completely breakdown, I can feel it coming. Not only for how I feel, but for my daughter. "Don't even use the excuse I could have contacted you through social media because I tried, but I was mysteriously blocked. Explain that one, please. I would love to hear what you have to say." I sat in a chair across from him and folded my arms waiting to hear what kind of response he has.

"Maya, I never blocked you on anything. I swear." He pleaded with me, but I wasn't buying it.

"Lucas save it." I replied. I took my phone out of my pocket and went to his social media and showed him I was blocked. He had a speechless expression on his face. "I've heard enough. Please leave so I can go pick up my daughter and take her home." He didn't say anything more, he got up and left.

The second he walked out the door it was like losing him all over again. All the feelings I had when he left when we were teenagers is all coming back to surface now. I could feel the anxiety rising in my chest. When I was pregnant with Claire I spent most of the pregnancy depressed from going through it alone and also from losing Lucas. I continued to sit there where I was talking to Lucas and took deep breaths until my breathing was at a normal pace. I closed up the shop for the night and headed out to Riley's to pick up Claire to take her home.
