-CHAPTER THREE: I'M NOT OKAY-
"What an obvious lie!"
Instead of fattening herself with frozen yogurt and indulging in more tragic novels just to drive herself out of depression, Shira decided it best to follow Harry's advice and go on with her life.
"He broke up with you?" Harry asked, emphasizing on the word 'he'.
Shira, still slightly crying, snapped her head up at Harry. "Is it that hard to believe?"
"Yes." He said honestly. " I always thought you were gonna break up with him!" It wasn't a joke but qith Harry's tone, Shira giggled for the first time.
Heaven is pretty cruel to my love life, Shira thought while wiping her face dry.
Harry stood up grabbed a blanket from the couch on the other side of the room and threw it over to Shira.
"Thank you" she said, wrapping the towel around her to keep herself warm.
"Don't forget, he's not the only person in the guild. Surely, even if you hate him—"
"I don't hate him!"
"Don't interrupt me. Even if you hate him, you'd have to face him someday. Hating him and sulking with be waste of effort and hormones. Move on, Shira." He said sternly.
Move on? How could she move on? Everyday, she'd be seeing Louis and Eleanor and she has to pretend she's okay? It's, as far as Shira would try, impossible!
"Zayn, Niall, Liam, my sister—" Harry started “—all care for you Shira. Of course, there's also me."
A smile split Shira's dry lips open. She didn't know if it was a silly joke but Harry's words penetrated deep enough to convince her to give moving on a try.
"You're right, Harry." Shira said, "If it's not meant to be, why force it?"
Even though her head was still spinning, Shira walked towards the door. "Thank you, Harry." She said lovingly.
"Anytime…"
That was yesterday morning. Now, Shira walked to the bar when she’ll meet her friends with a confident smile on her face, head held high, proud (so proud) that she didn't mope around like before. Good thing Harry was there when she needed someone. She'll probably have to treat him to some cold scramble later. Keys tinkling, soles tip-tapping, hips swaying, Shira hummed happily as she walked. There, about a few more steps north, she could see it.
As Shira opened the door, the same friendly atmosphere welcomed her. As usual, many were still talking to her and greeting her as she walked in. Thank God she didn't cry because if she did, her eyes would be red and bulging. She giggled happily at how thing were looking up at the start of her day.
Thank you, Harry. She thought.
But alas! Few happy things are meant to last. At the corner of her eye, she could see Eleanor gleaming widely at Louis, who was eating. Then and there, her chest felt heavy. What hurt more was that she was forced to wave back and fake a smile at the goo-goo-eyed couple who waved at her excitedly, as if indirectly saying, "Be miserable for we are together," with an evil laugh at the background. But she knew they had no ill intentions so there: fake Shira smile—Flash!
Turning her head back so she wouldn't drool, Shira walked to Niall and sit beside him. He was eating so she just kiss his cheek and let him be.
She sighed. “I have to really find a job” She thought. There was no way she could find a good job which pay a lot of money, she knows it, but she had to. She figured she shouldn't keep depending on other people's strengths—like Harry and Louis's for instance. She was still at college and she really needs the money… She look down at the newspaper and there was one job there that she thinks is interested in though: a 2000-euros job. Oh wow! That’s a good one. She smiles, but a l shadow covered her.
