-Kaname POV-

"Nee-chan, can we go now?" Naruto asked after I put the last bite of the cake in my mouth. I sighed. He's still impatient, even though I've already limited Yang Kurama's chakra supply. I guess it takes time for the effect to kick in. Or maybe it's in his nature.

"Go?" asked Kakashi, seemingly curious.

"We're going to pick up my stuff!" replied Naruto enthusiastically as he ran to the door to put his shoes on.

"Kakashi-san," I said, sensing a few unfamiliar chakra moving closer to us from all around the village. "How is the security of this area?"

"Quite good, I think." He then paused. "Is there a problem?"

"Not really, I'm just interested."

I sighed mentally. Looks like tonight's gonna be a long night. I better move the battlefield away in case I wake Naruto up later.

"Nee-chan, hayaku!"

"Hai hai."

To my surprise, Kakashi followed us again.

"I'm off-duty now." He placed a hand on my head and messed up my hair. "Besides, I feel like I should make sure you don't do anything reckless."

"I might do something reckless if you don't stop messing with my hair..." I growled unhappily as I freed myself from him. What is it with adults and hair messing? Sensei like to do this too. And Shizune-nee.

A few minutes later, we reached Naruto's place. He ran in and started packing. I sighed then joined him. I can't waste anymore chakra on making kage bunshin for packing - it'll be quite a fight later, even though my chakra reserves are larger because of Kurama. But seriously. Why do you need so many ninjas to kill a four-year-old? Sure, the said four-year-old is a jinchuriki who trained under one of the legendary Sannin since birth, but it just doesn't make any sense no matter how you look at it.

"Nee-chan?" A hand waved in front of my face, snapping me back to the present. "Are you okay? You've been spacing out for some time."

"I'm fine." I smiled as I packed the last of his things. "Just thinking about breakfast tomorrow."

"I want ramen!"

"You can't have ramen for breakfast, baka!" I then pulled him to the mirror. "Hora, this is what happens when you eat ramen every day. You won't grow."

I pointed out the height difference between the two of us. Naruto looked at the mirror, then tip-toed.

"That doesn't count, kora!" I smacked him on the head.

"Don't hit my head... -3-" complained Naruto as he rubbed the spot. "I'll become more stupid."

"This is 'The Iron Fist of Love'." I picked up a box, realizing that Kakashi had silently taken most of the boxes. "It's a specialty of my sensei." I shuddered, remembering the number of times I received it from her.

"She sounds scary..." Naruto pouted as he picked up the last box.

"Mah, she didn't have anything to do with me in the first place, but she chose to bring me up nonetheless, so I'm really thankful."

"Why didn't she stay here, then?" asked Naruto as we made our way back. "She's a Konoha ninja, right?"

"Saa." I shrugged. "She said it's because she can't gamble as she please in Konoha, but I think that's only one of the many reasons."

"Is that so..."

The journey back to our apartment was surprisingly quiet. Naruto looked deep in thought while Kakashi certainly isn't one to strike up a conversation unless it is absolutely necessary.
